Re: WILLIAM AND KATE'S FIRST OFFICIAL JOINT PORTRAIT

[ Edited ]

I was surprised at first until I thought back to other ‘official portraits’.  Looking at many that are 100s of years old, you realize that they are not for the moment, but a point in history, as if time stopped for that moment.

Kate has such mobile expressions, so lively and spontaneous, it’s part of her beauty, but very difficult to capture in a painting.

As this is their first official portrait, one can imagine someone looking at it years and years from now thinking, ‘And here we see them, facing their imminante role, contemplating their future, and that of their country.’

Just my thoughts.

I like it, I would not have chosen a Vampire‘s Wife dress, but no one would accuse me of being fashion forward.

Must agree with the posters who say is this not a very good likeness of Kate; I can't believe how anachronistic this painting is. The monarchy is seriously in trouble if this is the future. Way too imperial and way too old-school.

Re: WILLIAM AND KATE'S FIRST OFFICIAL JOINT PORTRAIT

Most people have many sides to them. We see so many of the casual side and dress up affairs. I think this is just another side of Kate where she doesn't always have to be smiling and showing her teeth.  A more relaxed face.  William just looks like William and he looks good in navy!

I like it a lot.  I think the artist captured the photo spot on.

I'm not wild about Kate's dress, I would've picked out something brand new/never seen for an *official portrait*.  She has gotten some mileage out of the dress she wore, good for her!

As far as the bustline.  When wearing a bra, your breasts should be halfway between your should and the inside of your elbow.  Hers are spot on where they are supposed to be.

Well, I'm glad Kate's boobs are where they are supposed to be!  That woman already has enough to worry about.   Now I wonder about other official portraits .... Woman LOL

Love the Portrait but Kate looks like she is wearing a bullet bra.

@cactusgal   Yes-that was what I was trying to express.  You did it better than I.

I also thought her bustline was not even on both sides.

It just wasn't Kate.

@Lucky Charm   Where her breasts are was not the issue some of us had.

Nobody mentioned her breasts were not where they were supposed to be.

It was the way the bra pointed out.

But thanks for the boob lesson.  LOL
