I think it needs to be redone with a new artist. This feels off.

I could not figure out what I didn't like and you said it perfectly, it feels off.

Re: WILLIAM AND KATE'S FIRST OFFICIAL JOINT PORTRAIT

I find it quite tolerable, but do think it could've been better.

There is something about Kate's image that feels "off" to me.

I like it. It is timeless. They don't look young and they don't look old- which is exactly where they are- in the middle.

The dress is very Kate and I love the expression on her face. No toothy grin, no poker face. They both look kind of amused. Like, how did we get here so fast? What happened to our carefree Angelsey days? What happened to your hair? Smiley Wink

I don't care for it at all.  Kate doesn't look like her usual happy/classy self her hair and whatnot are just bland.  The shape of William's head is just "off".  Is this a painting?

@FatCatinCT

You know- that caught my eye, too.  I know he has a fairly large head and that is fine in RL.

Yet in this painting his head looks much more elongated and I'm going to get kicked for this but my first thought was Conehead.

I do like his stance as I stated upthread; casual.  Not stiff.

@Oznell   It is a very nice portrait.

I like everything about it except I am not sure about how Kate's bustline is emphasized -not sure if that is the right word-but in my perception.

I like William's stance-almost casual and not stiff at all.

Can't hide she's female

@raspberrygal   Ya think?  Not sure what you mean but read through the thread-her bustline appears off to some of us.

I don't particularly care for Kate's dress.  I've seen her wear many I liked better.  The shiny fabric detracts from the photo.  I also don't care for the way they're staring off into space....at what?

Re: WILLIAM AND KATE'S FIRST OFFICIAL JOINT PORTRAIT

It's probably hard to do a portrait that everyone likes.

Right away, my eye went to the top of Kate's dress, the bustline.  It just didn't seem to lie correctly.

I find Kate to be much more beautiful than the portrait portrays.  Hard to please everyone!

Re: WILLIAM AND KATE'S FIRST OFFICIAL JOINT PORTRAIT

The portrait is very flattering to William, but the shadow on Kate's  face doesn't capture her beauty.
