7 weeks after having surgery to remove a malignant tumor on his shoulder, he's doing MUCH better; in fact, he's almost back to normal.

It was a bumpy ride and to add another outrage, I had him groomed as soon as his incarceration was over (we had to keep him confined to a back bedroom for 3 weeks so he wouldn't run around and re-inure himself). I hated to do it but he was a mess--his fur hadn't been trimmed in 6 months and he was just a scruffy, and slightly smelly, mess.

He looked so much better after the grooming--and I have a sneaking suspicion he felt better too although he'd never admit it in a million years--and smelled better too (long, straggly, not-very-clean fur gets a little odorous after a while).

We had to keep him penned up for 3 weeks. He would give us these, How can you do such a thing to me? looks and we felt awful but it had to be done. My DH happened to be taking 4 weeks of accumulated vacation at that time (purely coincidental); we had blown our vacation budget to pay for Boo's surgery and since we were stuck home, we spent as much time as possible with him. (My DH very nearly went out and bought a cot so he could sleep in the bedroom with Boo--what a guy!). For quite a while after his period of incarceration was over, Boo was very lethargic and seemed to have no energy at all. He even seemed depressed and I was really worried about him.

Well, it's now two months since his surgery and in the last week he seems like he's back to normal. He's been running around and pestering me to get his toys so we can play together, and he wants to go outside and play. Even though it's fairly cold, it's dry so we let him out for about 15 minutes at a time; then, he wants to come back in.

It's so good to see him back to his old self, and I thank you all who prayed for him. Thank you for caring about my baby; he's just the world to me and I'm so glad he pulled through.
