I feel like I've lost a close friend. I have memories of him from the time I was a young teenager going to games. I just can't think of the Orioles without thinking of him. How fitting that he died on an Orioles cruise, since it was such a big part of his life. I guess they're still investigating, but his wife said they went back to the cabin after dinner, and he started choking. DH says it was probably a heart attack. {#emotions_dlg.sad}

One of my favorite memories of him was when Jim Palmer attempted a comeback not that long ago. He's another one I saw a lot. My best friend's neighbor was a state trooper, and his daughter babysat for the Palmers. Anyway, they asked Earl whether or not Palmer used drugs, and somehow cocaine came up in the interview. Earl said something like this, "Coke? You're asking me if Palmer uses coke? ***(deleted!), he won't even DRINK one!" Palmer was known for being a clean-living health nut. Now his romantic life was another story...!
