I go out of my way to avoid USPS- government service. UPS all the way. I only receive junk mail now.

I would blame your local Post Office and delivery workers. I do not think there are issues everywhere abounding. I have great service with all my deliveries, UPS, USPS, FedEx. Nothing lost or delivered wrong. I think it is in the hands of who is working where you live.

USPS hires many veterans, so I cut them slack. I work WITH them when there's a problem. By contrast, UPS is just a great big greedy Fortune 500 company who refuses to buy more brown trucks and hire more personnel. They don't care that customers are complaining that their packages are arriving at 8PM and sometimes at 9PM. When your stuff has been sitting in an unairconditioned truck all day during the summer....it's a big issue out here and I would imagine in other cities too.

USPS is terrible here! Many times things have been marked delivered, but were not. I have lost many hundreds of dollars worth of merchandise due to USPS. I now have to insure everything to even have a hope of receiving it, and the post office actually stole a package It was "out for delivery" but never updated so I called and opened a case. I received a call from a guy who said he was looking at my package, actually a small manilla envelope, and didn't understand why it was not delivered. I never heard another word from him, refused all of my calls. I filed a complaint with the Postmaster General and sent a CD with the guy's message, and havn't heard anything. There are thieves in post offices.

Evidently the postman is too much in a hurry to actually look at the address.
I have had several envelopes and packages delivered to me that do not belong to me... usually someone down the street. I always take the item to the correct address. But I wonder how many others do not attempt to deliver to the correct address?? I have complained to Post Office and it stops, but then months later starts again. I seem to have new postpeople every three or four months. So far, I have been lucky as far as my items.

Want to add....UPS delivers QVC bags with tire tread marks running across them. The bags are filthy to the touch and you have to wash your hands before touching the inner plastic bag or you'll get your brand new items dirty and even the clothes you are wearing dirty! Been there!!! Also, I have received shipping boxes from them that were completely busted open with the contents visible and laying on the ground.
USPS delivers clean QVC bags as well as from other merchants....not a mark on them. On occasion, a cardboard shipping box of Wen was busted open but again, I'm going to cut them some slack especially since they delivered it same day it arrived to town. FedEx also delivers clean bags and I never received a broken shipping box from them.

POs are busy ""putting up the mail "" in the AM. Could be their deadline is 10. Did you look at tracking from beginning to end?

How does one insure something they order? I've not seen that option...I don't think ever.

same here scottie......i wish ups would go into the mail delivery business instead of just packages. we get great service from them. USPS, not so much. we are constantly receiving the wrong mail and others receive our mail......DAILY. the lines at the post office are so long because out of 5 stations, no more than 2 are ever open at one time.
