support eventually stops for all old software and old computers too unfortunately & we have to update. R&R you might get more answers in the electronic talk board.

It just means that you wont get anymore support or update. You can keep using it until it crashes.
If you're still running XP your computer is a few years old, right? You say you are having issues with it freezing?
You might want t start looking for something. If you can still find something loaded with Windows 7, that would be my choice.

You heard correctly. After 4/14....Microsoft will no longer support Windows XP with updates and help.
I too had XP and just bought a new computer. It was giving me problems..about 5 or so years old and kept "crash dump" ...time for a new one.
I got Touch with Windows 8 (now 8.1)..whole new world lol..I actually love it ..took me a bit to get used to it. I like it better then 7..I have 7 on my work computer.
You can get a new desk top really cheap these days..and laptops are at throw away prices for just net browsing, reading and emails etc..
I got a desk top all-in-one as the home computer serves all lol..we all have our phones, Kindles, Tablets and Laptops..but the Desk Top serves as the go to often lol..
Start looking around and see what fits your budget.

Companies can't afford to support stuff forever. They give it a good window and then move on. By now, most of the major security issues should have been addressed and it's unlikely anything new and major will pop up, so you could just keep using it, but if something pops up, Microsoft won't help you.
If all you need is a device for simple web browsing, and mainly online activities then something like the cloud-based Google Chomebooks/Chromeboxes might be ideal for you. They start at around $200 and are safer, reliable, virus/malware proof, and decently priced these days. You might want to give them a look.

ShopHQ has been pushing a little 9"" android quad core google tablet with a nice case/w keyboard for about $119. I think they have it on 6 EP for around $20. While supplies last.
