Re: USPS Stamp Out Hunger Saturday May 11

We received the blue bag earlier this week, we'll put it out early tomorrow morning.

Reminded me of the time growing up our church did a food drive; our minister asked us to please not donate the icky, old cans in the back of our pantries - he said, "if you don't want to eat the creamed onions, what makes you think someone else would?"

Left my pkg. Right under mailbox and the mail person didn,t pick it up. I got in the car and looked for the mail person and then drive around looking for any mail truck, none in sight.  It was just less than half hour since I had been out there looking for mail.  I will call my local PO Monday.  I brought food to put in bag.

I placed my bag on my porch right under the mail box.  I happened to see the mailman bring my mail and take the bag with him.   (one year I left a bag and the mailman didn't take it)

We got the notice early this week or late last week.  The card and the bag.  I noticed several folks didn't get their bag out early enough and it was still sitting there about 6 tonight.

Re: USPS Stamp Out Hunger Saturday May 11

We filled a whole big bag up and put it on the porch. DH was waiting for a delivery, so then we knew the mailman would get out of the truck and come to the porch and he did. So he got it (one year we had it at the mailbox and he never took it, all other years he took it).. Also, we see no one in this country development ever puts anything out which I find sad. Anyway, it was on our local news several times this past week about it as a reminder. Plus they showed the local food bank, and how important this is.

Last year, ours wasn't picked up, either.  This year, I sat on the porch and waited for the mail carrier to arrive and take our donation.

I received no postcards or blue bags that other people spoke of.. However, I did see a reminder on the television and I put out a bag yesterday under my
Mailbox which was picked up.. I didn’t see many bags out up and down my street...

Re: USPS Stamp Out Hunger Saturday May 11

I had my bag hanging on a hook right in front of   our mail slot and the mailman didn't take it.  Thankfully, DH was in the garage and called him back over for it.  He said he didn't see it???  Not our regular mail carrier and I wonder if some of these carriers feel it's an inconvenience to carry these items back to the truck, especially when they park at the end of the street and walk.  Reva
