Informed Delivery is great at letting you know what mail you should have received that day.  it makes it easy to submit lost claims.

What Informed Delivery can't do for you it search for and identify mail that has been stuck in their system and you feel that you should have received but didn't.

Re: USPS Informed Delivery?

[ Edited ]

@CherryHugs

Informed Delivery shows me the mail I SHOULD be getting but don't

I'm having a lot of problems with my carrier---  missing mail, other people's mail in my box....he complains about overflow and no room in my box for mail because he CRAMS packages in the tiny community mailbox instead of taking them to the condo office mail center...4 steps away from the community mailboxes..

.I check my mail twice a week, the packages are so wedged in I have to helpto get them out thats why there's no room for mail!!!!....this is the 3rd complaint I've filed.....😡

@CherryHugs , we have it and I always check it against what mail I actually receive to be sure nothing got lost.  We have had problems in the past with not receiving bills.  There is a box to check "I did not receive this mailpiece".  If I don't get that mail on that day I usually wait a day or two and when it still didn't show up I went back and checked that box.  The one time I had to do that that piece of mail showed up the next day.  May have been a coincidence.

I have it but it's not always accurate.  Some days it says nothing is coming but mail still arrives.  I don't rely on it.

It's never really accurate.  There was a time I received no notification at all for packages.  I simply got them by surprise.  Then several weeks later.... I would get them.  Currently they've been showing.  The only stuff not showing now is stuff from QVC.  I have to check my status to see if I get a delivery.  I've also been getting USPS delivery from Amazon showing.  It's like the post office.  Sometimes it's good, sometimes not so good.

I've had it since they started because we were having horrible problems getting our mail delivered (there was a house 2 streets over with our exact address, only they were on a different street). Even the postmaster had to get involved. That problem was taken care of (knock on wood). Everything was smooth sailing on informed delivery until the beginning of this year. They no longer are scanning for packages, I guess, in my local post office. I have not asked them about this, but I have to use a specific package tracker to find out when something is being delivered in package form.
