@CherryHugs  They send a photo of each piece of mail you are supposed to receive that day. If there is something you do not receive, there is a place for you to check that you did not receive it. They do ask that you give a certain time to see if it shows up. I like it.

I have reported missing mail many times on their website.  What happens?  Not a darn thing.  My missing mail is always missing.  Who knows what they did with it.   Most of the time it is only catalogs or ads that someone in the PO deems it not necessary to deliver.  However, when it is first class mail, like my annual statement from SS, now that is a problem.  Never received it, nor any of the others either.

I signed up mostly because I was having trouble getting my magazines. Even though it scans all political and medicare junk mail, for whatever reason,it doesn't scan magazines so it was no help in that regard. I do though, have a general idea what I'll be getting every day, though not always accurate.

Re: USPS Informed Delivery?

The Infomed Delivery mail is just an email you receive that shows a picture of your mail & or packages you should receive that day.

No it does not help with mail not recieved. You have to wait so many days before you can report it as not received.

I have done this with several pieces of mail we never received. The Post Office never sent me any type of reply regarding the lost mail. We have never received any of the lost mail.

When I called to ask about it they said they cannot do anything about it unless that piece of mail has a tracking number?

LOL!!! If it's lost it's lost you may or may not get it. Nothing you can do about it.

Do you mean packages that are coming through USPS. I am always informed when packages are being delivered by them. For example a QVC box that started off as UPS but was switched over to USPS for delivery.

If it's via UPS, then I am not notified.

@icezeus    I'm rarely informed of the arrival of any QVC package so I have to check the box daily even if it shows only junk mail being delivered.  I've had things sit in my rural-style mailbox overnight because I didn't know they were there.

For me, the best thing about Informed Mail is being aware of what's coming.  Our mailbox is at the end of the driveway and if the weather is bad, it helps to know whether I should make the trip.  We have days when it's nothing but junk mail or nothing at all.  Couple of weeks ago, we had a lot of snow and it felt good knowing there was nothing coming that was important.

As for the 2 Christmas cards that you still haven't received, they may be stuck in a mailbag riding around the country on a mail truck.  Or, they could have gotten stuck in a sorting machine or even a catalogue.  The latter happened to me with an invitation to a graduation that had passed.  My neighbor found it in her magazine and finally got around to doing her reading !

While on a very long vacation, it was good to know what the premium mail forwarding would be sending me at week's end.  Extremely worthwhile free service "Informed Delivery."

I've had it for a few years........we have a mailbox at the end of our driveway. Photos of most non-junk mail are included in my daily email.

Sometimes the images are of pieces that have not been delivered yet, but I wait a day or so to find them delivered.

You can sign up at UPS & FedEx so you receive emails for any packages that are coming from them.

If I receive one from UPS it most likely will get delivered by the Post Office. You can check the tracking on UPS to find your USPS tracking number so you can track it to see when it will be delivered.

I receive emails from all 3 on packages so I know when they will be delivered. Once they show delivered if it was not delivered I call them right away. Seems it easier for them to find it that way. Sometimes they go get the package where they did leave it & deliver to my house where it was supposed to be delivered to begin with.

@Nightowlz    Thanks, I just check "order status" daily to see what's out for delivery.

Geeze, I have never heard of this service before. You mean I could go get a package before hubby sees it? Now you tell me. LOL No worries about stolen mail though, we have a locked mailbox.
