I totally agree. Sad, but true. Who was it that said we need to live like they did in a "kinder, gentler time?" We need more kindness and gentleness in our every day interactions. We need to look elsewhere for our role models, Goldengate8361.

That wasn't about me but I did feel like doing that once. I was in a hurry that day. I had my groceries on the belt but didn't notice anyone behind me as I was concentrating on my coupons. A woman had put her groceries on the belt and although there was a divider available she didn't use it. Rather she was yapping on her phone and wasn't paying attention to her groceries. The cashier rang up a few of her items with my order before I realized it and stopped her. She ended up having to call a supervisor over with a key to void out the items that weren't mine, thus delaying me and causing me inconvenience. The woman never apologized for the delay or inconvenience to me for not using the divider or minding her groceries but just kept yapping on her phone. 😡

I guess I've been lucky , I usually work with the customer ahead or behind me to put the divider in place if it's available. I mean the goal is to move things along , but if it's not there, you've got to relax.

Nasty young people grow up to be nasty old people.

What does age have to do with it? When my MIL was in a senior care facility, there were fights and stealing going on regularly.

My MIL was on the floor on top of another women who was digging through her bureau drawers looking for something of value to take. She held her down until somone came to remove the other woman. She was getting tired of her stuff walking away.

My MIL was feisty, but that was unbelievable. Did I mention she was in her 80's at the time?
