Re: Two Senior Women Attack Each Other In Check Out!!!!!!

We have had some cold spells with lots of rain here in Texas for the new year.  A couple of weeks ago a mid twenties female disk jockey I listen to was telling the other two jockey's that she wanted to make chili for her and her husband with Fritos on the side that night for the cold weather.  Must have been the idea of many since no Fritos were left on the shelf in the chip aisle.  She noticed a big bag in a woman's basket and while the woman was turned and distracted she took the bag and put her 2nd choice of Tostitos in her cart.  I was so horrified that she had done this switch and then went on to tell it to her audience.  She did admit after the chili dinner was eaten she did feel bad about the theft of the woman's possession.  At least she admitted it was very bad and did use the word "theft."

@Spurt Forget Lori. That's a direct QVC forum idea and we all should split the profits ourselves. I see no reason to cut her in at this point. First one on Down Home with David waves to the thread. LOL

Re: Two Senior Women Attack Each Other In Check Out!!!!!!

I always put that bar behind my stuff on the belt whether or not I see someone behind me because 99% of the time someone will get in line behind me.

If the person in front of me doesn't put that bar down, I'll just handle it myself. No big deal. If I don't see a bar available, I'll just leave a large gap betwen my stuff and the person in front of me and let the cashier know when my stuff comes up.

People get stressed over the smallest things. It's ridiculous.

I do admit I found the thread title with all the exclamation points to be pretty amusing.

Lots of people don't put down the bar. I do. I think some folks don't even know what it's for.

Re: Two Senior Women Attack Each Other In Check Out!!!!!!

Since this post turned into a discussion about a divider bar - I always make an effort to place a bar before AND after my purchase.  I've never had any issues with this, and have never seen anyone have issues one way or another.  With that said, I think there was more to the story on the 2 women fighting.

Sometimes the bar is just set too low. :-)

My local supermarket doesn't even have those separating bars!   There's never been an issue with groceries "running into one another."  Smiley Wink

@Pearlee   You had to have known because you posted she was talking on her cell phone.

She may not have been there as soon as you were but at some point she showed up.

The divider really isn't the issue.  The issue is that you expected something to happen and it didn't.

Sometimes life doesn't go the way we think it should; and I'll say it again-I put the divider down and you feel you do not have to.

Which one of us ends up stressed???

Honestly Pearley I do like you and I think you bring much to the community.  But I also do not understand how such little things like a grocery divider "etiquette" determined by you cannot simply be changed into "I'll put the divider down so this doesn't happen again".
