I didn't even know they were still around.  I remember my mom use to have those Tupperware parties back in the seventies.

Re: Tupperware Filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy

I had a Tupperware party, eons ago.  I remember that my Grandmother bought a set of trays.  Not long after that, she moved to Florida.  Before she did, she put everything out on tables for my Mom and Aunt to have first pick before she donated or sold what was left. Those trays were on the table.  I remember feeling guilty that she spend money at my party for something she really did not need or want.

Fast forward to a few years ago.  I have a set of Tupperware bowls that I have used for a very long time.  They are stained and scratched and the lids are hard to get on.  I emailed Tupperware to see if they had a recycling program for those hard plastic bowls.  Our local recycling only does items with the numbers 1 to 5 on them, and I don't think those bowls qualify.  I never heard back from Tupperware.  I would still like to get rid of them.

I only use glass or ceramic containers now.  I know a lot of people are moving away from using plastic.  I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not.

HSN had a Tupperware TS just this past July.  I remember then that I was surprised to hear they were still in business.

I got rid of colored food containers decades ago.  I remember opening & closing those containers to see what I put inside.

Same here, @Bri369. It's mason jars and Anchor Hocking storage containers for me.

Chapter 11 doesn't mean they're going out of business.  It's a restructuring of debt while the company remains in business.

Those Tupperware containers could last almost forever, as long as one doesn't 'melt' (or whatever else) them.  (No microwave, piping hot water, etc.)

Taking good care of them, they do seal in the contents, etc. quite well.

I'm hoping they will return in a new, innovative way.

As long as the quality of the plastic (or whatever) remains in tact.

Made in USA would be nice.......

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

I never had a party or went to one....but they sure were popular in my mom's and grandma's day.

I still have some pieces of my mom's that are some of my favs, I use often...years old, still wearing well. Too bad...maybe they can restructure, be saved?  I don't know....but, like I said...I still like their products, the functionality and quality...at least the old pieces I have. I'd say, "maybe that was then" but I recently saw a Tupperware ad somewhere online and one of my favorite large salad containers I have they still sell that style.
