Re: Tupperware Filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy

[ Edited ]

The life of Tupperware will be extended,  at least for a time.

In court documents filed October 22nd, an investment group has purchased Tupperware's debt and taken control of operations.

The plan is to focus and grow markets which are successful and leave those that are unprofitable.

Subject,  of course, to court approvals; the plan skirts asset liquidation and closure of the company.

I've gotten three invites to online Tupperware parties since September! Guess they're really trying to stay afloat.

Tupperware had a lifetime guarantee. You could return damaged or defective items and they would send you a replacement. I don't know if they're still doing that. Try Googling it.

Re: Tupperware Filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy

I have tupperware ice cube trays from a much loved and departed friend, a wonderful cook, who offered them when he moved closert to his family.

I think of him every time I use them, always with a smile, as he was probably the wittiest and kindest friend I ever had.  It's the downside of age--losing such lovely friends.

I don't know if they can "restructure".

Tupperware was a very good product, but I think it was the PARTIES that really clinched the sale.  Plenty of enthusiasm ... and a smidge of peer pressure at times.

The presentation experience would be missing if the containers sat on store shelves.

Could they thrive online?  Maybe, maybe not.

I sure don't envy those working to keep the company afloat.
