I read a lot about it today and it seems none of it can be truly labeled "safe."

I have been eating Bumble Bee white albacore tuna for a long, long time because I need the protein (not being a meat eater).  Now I'm afraid to even open a can.

Most of you are so brave.  How are you going to handle this recall and research about tuna (if you do research it)?

I'm not going to worry about it, the recalls have been voluntary so it seems they're taking care of it.

I get the Kirkland white albacore tuna, they're good about recalling food if necessary.

Food contamination is so common now, all we can do is try to keep up with the news.

@LilacTree  And so we meet up again on this forum Smiley Happy.  That is the brand that I eat when I eat canned tuna.  It really is the best one as far as texture, smell, and taste.  I, also, don't eat meat.  I haven't for over 30 years.  I eat eggs, nuts, and fish for protein.  I take a cupful of supplements everyday.

I am health conscience, but I have never been compulsive about where food is sourced from until recently......meaning I choose organic when offered and and also nonGMO.  Still, we eat out alot and I refuse to get obsessive about it.  I suppose that restaurant fare could pose many problems that I choose not to think about.  I enjoy eating out.  I hate to cook.  I am willing to take the risk.

I guess until they pull it off the shelves, I am eating it......just call me an ostrich in the sand.

I get the Kirkland Signature brand, too.  Costco is very good about letting customers know about recalls.

I don't eat it more than once a week though.

I'm going to keep eating it, I have no intentions of living forever. But just like coffee in a day or two that'll all turn around. But each to his own, that's just my plan.

What tuna recall?  Haven't heard anything about that around here.

This is the first I'm hearing about any tuna recall.  (Still don't know the details or what it's about).  I love tuna fish; could eat it every day.

@tends2dogs

Hah!  Tends2dogs, you are so cute.  I could have predicted your answer!

Anyway, what I've decided to do is wait a while to open those cans (just bought yesterday).  If nothing else is recalled, I will most likely go back to eating BB white albacore!

What a crazy world, right?

@Citrine1

Google Bumble Bee tuna recall and check the numbers they have recalled.  None of it is white albacore.  Supposedly it can be fatal for some.

Oh my!  Fatal?  Wow.  Thanks @LilacTree.  Bumble Bee is the brand I buy, but I do get the solid white albacore.
