I haven't heard of any recall, but I'm guessing it has to do with Bumble Bee(?)  I do eat about a can a week, but mine is usually Chcken of the Sea or my local store brand (don't know who packages that).

Anyway, it seems like every day they're finding something wrong with everything.  I can't live my life in fear, and I've already made it to 67 eating GMO's, pesticides, and mercury, so I'll take my chances!

I used to love tuna. But over the years it has become "metallic" tasting to meSmiley Tongue. I don't know if it's me or what. Tuna tastes like the tin can it comes in. I just can't eat it any more.

The only thing I can find on line about a recall is from March, 2016.  Is that the one?

Between February 10 and March 16, 2016

What brand of tuna was recalled?
Tri-union Seafoods and Bumble Bee Tuna Brands voluntarily recalled dozens of lots of canned tuna fish after the companies discovered seals on the cans may be faulty, making the food vulnerable to spoilage and contamination which could sicken consumers.

@SilleeMee, I quit using Bumble Bee for this very reason several years ago, then I also changed my mayo from Kraft to Hellmans, I finally read about Kirklands Brand from Costco on the forums, and have been buying it for a couple of years, and I have to admit it is very good tuna!

31,579 cases are included in the recall which were produced in February 2016 and distributed nationally.

The recall affects 3 specific UPC codes (8660000020, 8660000021, 8660000736) of canned Chunk Light tuna. They’ve been recalled after the company says process deviations occurred in a co-pack facility not owned or operated by Bumble Bee, which could result in contamination by spoilage organisms or pathogens, which could lead to life-threatening illness if consumed.

It is important to note that there have been no reports of illness associated with these products to date. No other production codes or products are affected by this recall.

The products subject to this recall are marked with a can code that starts with a “T” (example: TOA2BSCAFB) and have the following “best by” dates:

5oz Bumble Bee Chunk Light Tuna in Water – 02/10/2019, 02/16/2019, 02/17/2019, 02/18/2019, 02/22/2019, 02/23/2019, 02/25/2019

5oz Bumble Bee Chunk Light Tuna in Oil – 02/23/2019

4 Pack of 5oz Bumble Bee Chunk Light Tuna in Water – 02/9/2019, 02/10/2019, 02/22/2019, 02/29/2019

Bumble Bee is working closely with the co-packer and the FDA to remove the affected products from store shelves.

Consumers are advised to throw away the recalled product.

Anyone looking for more information on reimbursement or whom have questions about the recall may contact Bumble Bee at (888) 820-1947 between the hours of 9am and 6pm EST seven days a week or visit www.bumblebee.com/recall-march-2016

@Hooty,

Thanks for your suggestion. I'm going to try the Kirklands! I miss eating tuna and this might do the trick.Woman Happy

@SilleeMee

A couple of years ago there was a tuna conversation on Q and so many people said Kirkland (Costco) was their favorite brand.  I decided to try it and that's all we've used ever since.  IMO it's the best out there.
