Re: Trying to shop --- I am already getting tired of the crowds!!!

Oh, my, yes!  I hate that stuff!  I was at a big mall last year at this time.  Every time I walked by, this kid was yelling at me and trying to grab my arm.  I wanted to slug him.  It was really annoying and embarassing.  He was like, lady, don't you want to have soft skin, don't you want to be kissably smooth for your man.  Let me see your nails -- we can do better than that!! Grrrrr @@@@! I am not a violent person -- but I was about ready to punch him in the nose!!!

Thanks, everyone!  Hope I haven't missed anyone's post!  If I did, I will reply later.  Got to get ready for work, so I can make more money to go out and shop some more!  LOL!

I haven't run into any crowds yet! When I lived in the big city, yes, it was crowded but now that I live rural the stores are always empty. Another reason I LOVE rural living. Woman Happy

Yes, that's a good thing to do.  But then don't you need other things as you along?  I do. I hate it, but I do.  I guess I just need a lot of stuff!  LOL!

Those things I need for Christmas now can be filled in with one trip to Hobby Lobby for ribbon. Otherwise from now to Christmas all my necessary shopping will be done at the gracery store.

However, with all the snowbirds coming to Florida for the season especially after Jan 1 - everywhere in Fl. stays awfully crowded for 3 months. You can't go anywhere. The restaurants and stores and esp. the beaches are just jammed every day.We even have to get to church 1/2 hour early to find a parking spot.

Yes! Those people are so aggressive and annoying. The cosmetics people always try to get me to smell something or put something on me and I say, "I am allergic" and they say, "It's organic! You can't be allergic to it." Dude, dogs, cats, and pollen are all organic - still allergic!

One guy tried to get me to buy the same dead sea stuff and told me he would give me my money back if I didn't like it. I pointed to the sign RIGHT behind him that said "no returns" and asked how he could promise me that when they sign stated their no return policy. He said he'd do it just for me and I said great, but I know I'll come back to return it and somehow no one will have ever heard of you and just point to that sign.

They're just flat out liars and they bring out the worst in me, too, @AngelPuppy1.

How are you doing?  I am sorry to hear about the chemo.  My best wishes to you and I hope you have a speedy recovery!!!!

Yes, exactly.  The shopping part may not be that bad but its the checkout part that will really do you in!!!

Angell.....thanks so much for your kind words.  It's been going on since February, and this Tuesday I met with my oncologist.  Tried to find out how much longer, but he has no idea.  Have a feeling another PETscan will be done in January.  That is the tell all of what is going on.  The last one showed no activity (no doing anything), That means it's not going to any other place in my body.  That is good.  It is heen tough to go through, but I've made it this far, so know I will continue until I am in remission.    That's my goal.

Have been looking at some things I think my sis might like.  Found one thing, and since it is rather expensive I will get it for her birthday and Christmas combined.  Don't like to do that, but think she will like this.  Will make up my mind today and get it ordered.  It's a beautiful gold bracelet from the Q.  And, I have to get gift cards for my Scrubby Dutch (cleaning crew), and Visiting Angel.  Or, I may just give them cash.  Not sure on that yet.

Anyhow, going to the stores is not on my list this hyear.

Re: Trying to shop --- I am already getting tired of the crowds!!!

It is the Holiday season so there are bound to be more people shopping.  Crowds really don't bother me that much.  I live in a busy suburban area (north NJ) so it's just a way of life. I am retired so I can plan my shopping/errands at slow times of day.  Stores aren't too busy from 9 - 11 am.

That's wonderful!  No, we have nothing like that around here.

Are you sure?  My grocery doesn't promote or advertise that they do this, but they do.  If you have a large chain grocery, give them a call!!

I deal primarily with Aldi and Walmart and I don't think they do that.  I don't think DH would go for that any way!  But thank you and that is a wonderful service, to be sure!!
