Re: Trying to shop --- I am already getting tired of the crowds!!!

@PinkyPetunia

Thanks, PinkyPetunia!

I guess if you live in a more populated area, you do get a little more used to it.  I live in a very countrified area and I am used to going out and there are like -- no people shopping!  Not that great for the stores, but nice for me.  LOL!

And I still have to work -- unfortunately --- so I am always counting minutes.  Trying to get too much done in too little time!!!

Well, God Bless you --- I will keep good thoughts for you!  It sounds very promising and I am so glad for you!!!  You sound like you have a great attitude and I believe thats a big part of winning the battle.

I think the bracelet sounds wonderful and I am sure your sister will love it.

I don't believe a person can go wrong with gift cards.  I know I love them personally.

I don't know how people can stand themselves that do things like that!!!!  It is terrible to get accosted just walking through a mall.  Should be against the law.  Its like --- no, no, and no.  What part of NO don't you understand?  Woman Mad

Oh, wow.  That must be tough.  I guess there is a down side to eveything.  I think we just have to grit our teeth and hang on!!!  This, too, shall pass!!!!

@ID2

I know what you mean.  I live in a country type setting, too.  But I think that's why I am spoiled!  People that probably never shop are out and every where.  I tell DH -- the novices are out!! LOL.

How are you doing?  I am sorry to hear about the chemo.  My best wishes to you and I hope you have a speedy recovery!!!!

Yes, exactly.  The shopping part may not be that bad but its the checkout part that will really do you in!!!

Angell.....thanks so much for your kind words.  It's been going on since February, and this Tuesday I met with my oncologist.  Tried to find out how much longer, but he has no idea.  Have a feeling another PETscan will be done in January.  That is the tell all of what is going on.  The last one showed no activity (no doing anything), That means it's not going to any other place in my body.  That is good.  It is heen tough to go through, but I've made it this far, so know I will continue until I am in remission.    That's my goal.

Have been looking at some things I think my sis might like.  Found one thing, and since it is rather expensive I will get it for her birthday and Christmas combined.  Don't like to do that, but think she will like this.  Will make up my mind today and get it ordered.  It's a beautiful gold bracelet from the Q.  And, I have to get gift cards for my Scrubby Dutch (cleaning crew), and Visiting Angel.  Or, I may just give them cash.  Not sure on that yet.

Anyhow, going to the stores is not on my list this hyear.

Showme, I'm so sorry for what you're going thru.   I'm also in a battle and just finished a series of cyber knife treatments that have destroyed some of my insides -- don't ask, it's just terrible.   Please know I'll be thinking of you and said a prayer for you.  I hope we both have a good outcome.

Debbie......sorry to hear you too are having to go through something and battling cancer too.  Have never heard of the kind of treatment you are going through.  Do know the affects from treatments can be worse sometimes than what the problem is......Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers too.  We will both win our battle.  Just feel it in my bones.  I am going to win this battle.....and hopefully you will too.

Blessings to you.

Angell, thanks.  Yes, I think it is promising and am looking forward to the day when the doctor tells me I'm in remission.  Will go out and celebrate......

Will be ordering my sister's bracelet today.  I have looked at it several times and feel that is the one.  Have time to get the gift cards or get the cash for the others.  Think I will give cash, that way they can get what they want.

Need to go get dressed and do a few things before the cleaning girls get here to clean my apartment.  It needs it this time.  Have them here every 2 weeks.

Have a great weekend, and don't let the shopping get you down.

Re: Trying to shop --- I am already getting tired of the crowds!!!

I can't use the service where I rent in the summer because I don't buy anywhere near enough at one time - there's a $100 floor at the only chain offering the service.  I'm way more likely to spend less than $25 in a trip to most supermarkets than $100.

I do have friends who get themselves through illnesses and snowstorms with the service, but for now I'll be relying on advance preparation unless there's a better deal around here.  Will check that out right now.  Thanks for reminding me I should.
