We recently had a wall to wall carpet put down. We had problems with the carpet. There is a defect in the weave. We filed a claim with the carpet company (I'm not sure I want to give out the name) They approved the claim. They left a phone message saying that I should call back to set up an appointment. Well I did. I didn't get a customer representative. Just a person who switches the calls to the right people. He was very abrupt, almost unpleasant. He could not find my name in the computer, so I gave him my husband name and said take your pick. Finally he said he would switch me to customer service. I said something like "Thank heavens". He said "B i t c h" while he was switching me. He was not fast enough. I called out "Caught you" but by that time I was already over to customer service. I was so angry, (I belong to Twitter) I sent out a tweet giving the name of the company and their phone number. I told customer service what happened. She apologized but she did not think she could trace back who switched me over (and the person I talked to) I also told her I put this on twitter. Anyway they promised to call me back tomorrow about this. Did I over react? I finally calmed down and took down the tweet. The guy had every right to think me a B i t c h, but not to call me one. Especially during a business call.

I'd call the corporate office of the company and tell them what happened. That is unacceptable.

I have a feeling that some companies don't really care who they hire now-a-days. Probably no background checks, no good references, etc.

If the business uses a call center, it could be difficult to find out who the dude was.
I would be upset, too if I called a business and someone said that to me.

You didn't overreact except now he knows you reported him and he could be a psycho that now knows your name and location. My friend reported her paperboy one time and he got fired and he was very vindictive.

We have to be careful when we complain about a company on social media. They've begun to fight back and threaten legal action against who condemned them publicly.
It's really a gray area at this point it time. Companies have a way of tracing their name on social media so they can get back to who said something about them.
On Instagram, I mentioned a local business a couple of times that we really like. I was surprised when I got a thank you back from them

I think you have bigger fish to fry with this company than worrying about a phone rep.
They sold you defective carpet and you are still having issues.
I wouldn't give them the satisfaction of considering you a B...I'd be sweet in an effort to get your MAIN issue resolved.
I'd apologize tomorrow and say that you overreacted because you were upset about the poor quality of the rug and you need a resolution ASAP....bring the conversation back to the real issue.

I took the tweet down almost right after I put it up. I know there are psychos out there. My husband told me to forget and don't do anything again. We will also never do business with them. They have to replace the carpet. That they can do. But afterwards never bother with them again.

No but close. They're phone number is a jingle. I think Empire is their rival.
