Re: Tre sent a letter to the judge

Giudice hoped to be incarcerated at Danbury Federal Prison in Connecticut - the prison Orange Is The New Black's Litchfield is based on - as she claims this would allow her to be visited by her four daughters more easily.

RadarOnline reported Monday that a letter was submitted to Judge Ester Salas expressing that Giuidice’s former attorney did not request a specific prison at the time of sentencing, and the star would now like to amend this.

‘During Ms. Giudice’s sentencing, the Court expressed its intent to have Ms. Giudice serve her sentence in a camp environment,’ the letter read. ‘The sentencing transcripts reflect that Your Honor mentioned Danbury and West Virginia. We acknowledge that at the time of sentencing, defense counsel did not ask for a specific designation.'

n

It was added, ‘However, upon review of the judgment of conviction, and in discussions with a Bureau of Prisons expert, the language of the judgment as written will likely result in Ms. Giudice being designated to Metropolitan Detention Facility Brooklyn, or Metropolitan Correctional Facility Manhattan…both of which are administrative facilities that house females.

‘This was clearly not the intention of the court when inquiring as to Danbury or West Virginia as a designation. Ms. Giudice’s offense and her Bureau of Prison classification will qualify her to be designated to a camp, however, the language of the judgment must reflect the same.’

Giudice’s attorney then requests the judgement be changed to reflect that the Court recommends her for ‘a non-administrative facility placement’ and adds this would be in order ‘to facilitate visitation with her young children’.

The 42-year-old’s defense asks that if there is no room to incarcerate her at Danbury in Connecticut, she go to Anderson in West Virginia.

Re: Tre sent a letter to the judge

Tre is freaking out about her daughters the closer it gets. She's so afraid Joe will not look after them properly. I would be worried too. She should have thought about that before.

I don't see why people keep connecting this to Orange is the New Black. Teresa's main concern was being close to her children. The request was to serve most of her sentence at a half way house.

It's always a victory for me when I remember why I entered a room.

I used to really think Gia was a brat, but now I feel so badly for her. I think she will end up being the "mother." I wish the court could have made Joe go to treatment now. If he's drinking a lot since his father died, won't it just get worse when Tre leaves? Those poor kids! That being said, I do not feel sorry for the parents.

scottie ... I think her letter was on Radar O or TMZ. I saw the story, but didn't read it. She wants to go to the one that is closest to her for her daughters. Not the one that Martha went to. They are changing the one she wants to all male so I can't see that happening.

Thanks Preds, I know but I would LOVE to read it all the same.

I am surprised Tre didn't ask to be sent to a new unused jail!

Thanks for the post Hoovermom.

What is an administrative facility? Anybody know?

How about these Brooklyn and Manhattan facilites? What are those like?
