There are reports warning people to shop early because inventory is limited and also problems with slow shipping.  Reasons why retailers are starting Christmas a bit earlier this year.

However, I don't recall much Christmas at QVC during August and September, so from what I see it's not solid Christmas from July through December that I have heard here previously.

Christmas gifts are just more products sold as is the case throughout the year.  I am not seeing much decor sold now.

I said this quite a few times here before and beginning to sound like a broken record; however, I know not everyone reads all the posts.  Retailers make up to 30% of their annual sales during the Christmas season, so, of course, they are going to push it.  They need it to survive.  Retail employees need it to keep their jobs.

QVC is a retailer and behaving like one.

And here's something else to consider .....  you wait until later in the season and your really counting on those special gifts....Lo and behold there's mixups on the orders ...now what do you do....no time to get the order corrected and delivered on time....

Just this past couple of weeks Ive had two different mixups----apparently my order was damaged in route and returned to QVC by USPS I was given a refund...but no product.....And yesterday another order, the package had my mailing label, but someone else's order and invoice inside the package.  I called CS they were very kind and took care of all the details correcting both orders....

And this is October when these mixups occurred and its only going to get crazier with Holiday orders and shipments flooding in.... So you say it's too early for Christmas shows and Christmas shopping....go ahead and wait...you cant say I didnt try to warn you traditional Christmas shoppers....

Amazon is not an option for me!  Bait and switch by an Amazon vendor, another bad experience with an order, and my credit card was hacked....Amazon only place it was used (I learned about security issues on Amazon's website from my bank they said never save your credit card on Amazon's website).....And

Amazon plays a lot of pricing games, people think they always have the lowest price, but the fact they dont....

I haven’t seen any Christmas shows.

Then you haven't had your TV on. It is everywhere & kills any Christmas you may have had. Even Hallmark & Lifetime are showing Christmas movies. It is madness. I would like to enjoy Halloween & Thanksgiving but you don't see any shows for them.

Re: Too Many Christmas Shows!

I don't mind the more festive Christmas shows, with Valerie.  I usually end up recording a few, and then watch when the mood strikes.  Anything else, I just don't watch.

We enjoy doing a limited amount of local shopping, observing social distancing, and almost everyone around here does too.  There's a quiet bustle in the stores, and I hope they have a good financial season after what they've been through.  Combine that with some online shopping, and boom, it'll be nice to have it all done and be able to enjoy the true meaning of the holiday.

Many of us think:

Too many beauty shows!

Too many shoe shows!

Too many handbag shows!

Too many fashion shows!

So we don't watch!

Re: Too Many Christmas Shows!

There are so many “QVC” ruined my Christmas threads because the hosts keep saying, “GUARANTEED TO ARRIVE BEFORE CHRISTMAS”. I hate that they do that, and feel that it is a seriously deceptive business practice.

Re: Too Many Christmas Shows!

They started earlier this year because there are challenges this year due to the Coronavirus.  Shipping is just one challenge; they want people to shop early to avoid delivery problems.  And they also have delivery issues on their end.  They probably aren't getting merchandise in the numbers that they would like.  We aren't required to watch shows that don't interest us.  I never watch an CIJ shows because Christmas is of no interest to me in July.  I'm usually one of those people who starts Christmas shopping right after Halloween but this year, I started early.
