@Cats3000...To my way of thinking this has nothing to do with knowing how to be a parent...It is all about common sense which he obviously doesn't have.

Man, I don't even like Brady but now I at least think he's a cool Dad.

@pigletsmom, I don't understand the above sentence.

Oh, and btw, it's really okay that you asked about the video even if it had come up earlier. :-)

@suzyQ3 I learned from this thread that this entire thing is crazy and most if not all Dads are idiots. So I think the next question should be why would Mom let the kids go anyplace with Dad. It's clear ONLY Moms have any sense at all. Well, except when they let their kids go off with Dad. So hopefully we can soon start questioning her parenting skills. Woman Wink

In the mean time this girl is probably excitedly telling all of her friends about how she went cliff jumping. And even about how she was ready to jump before her Dad.

You have to admit, there are a lot of women on these boards who just downright hate all men.

Of course, they would never admit that they hate men.

Absolutely true.  I have seen that here many times.  The animosity toward men and the generalizations about them are truly astounding.

I have no idea who Tom Brady is as I do not follow football. Anyone could have been with this child and I would hold the same opinion.

I would agree with you except that he was right there with her.  Holding her hand, guiding her, etc.  Without adult supervision this would have been dangerous for a young child for sure.  But he clearly knew what he was doing and he took his time.  There was nothing impulsive or reckless about it.   He wasn't filming her, he wasn't off to the side or watching from afar.  (Or not watching her at all, which sadly is the norm for many parents.)  He was right there with her, and doing it with her.

There's potential for injury in a lot of activities.  This is no more dangerous than jumping on a trampoline or skiing or a whole lot of other things that kids do.

I am not a Tom Brady fan.  But I have no problem with this at all.

Yes, he did it with her and all the more ridiculous as a parent’s role is to teach and not encourage risky behavior.

If she had hit the rocks, I seriously doubt this thread would be comparing it to skiing and jumping on a trampoline.

Everyone has their own definition of "risky behavior".   If she had been skiing and got hurt, for sure people would be saying she was too young to be doing that and he was irresponsible as a parent, etc.  A lot of activities carry risk, and since he was clearly experienced and supervising her closely, I don't see this as any more risky than lots of activities that kids regularly do.

Equally astounding is the "hate card" being thrown around for people who merely have differing opinions.  I really get tired of that.

I don't either... But you have to remember it was his kid and he was involved, so those with a perceived bone to pick are going to jump on whatever anti-Brady bandwagon they can find... no matter how lame...

I saw that what seems like a long time ago.

Look!  What it boils down to is she's not our child, he's not our husband and we aren't his wife.

Many of you are my age (or close to it).  You will agree that these days if  someone expelled gas there's someone there to (attempt) to video tape it.

I realize someone WAS videotaping this thing.  So, if there are any consequences, it's something the Brady family must deal with.

I have a hard enough time keeping up with my family.  I come from a huge family and someone is always doing something to or about someone.

I'll stick with attempting to keep up with them.

Not only was the act itself dangerous and irresponsible, but what were they thinking posting it on Instagram??!! How many Brady-admirers will want to copy this activity with their own kids, b/c they think if Brady did it, it must be “cool”? He’s clueless, and an egomaniac.

Furthermore, professional athletes have a clause in their contracts prohibiting them from engaging in activities which endanger their health or safety, such as: motorcycling, moped-riding, auto racing, downhill skiing, sky-diving, mountain biking, mountain-rock climbing or rappelling, and hang-gliding.

Maybe I’m wrong, but l would consider cliff-jumping a dangerous activity as well. It seems that he could have been violating his contract with the Patriots. SMH.

There’s just nothing going on behind his eyes. I think I’ve seen one interview with him, and it was like watching Frankenstein’s monster trying to answer questions. Just because he’s physically attractive and can throw a ball well doesn’t mean he has any intelligence or common sense. We knew this when the video with him kissing his son came out. Hopefully his wife keeps him on a shorter leash from now on.

Yea, dumb as a stump... Guess that's why he graduated from the University of Michigan carrying a solid B average with a major and two minors in business and psychology, while both working part time jobs and often volunteering, interned for Merrill Lynch and was able, both at the college and professional levels, to work his way up the depth chart to be large and in charge... Stupid people don't tend to succeed at the quarterback position because it involves so much more than just throwing a ball... As for his kissing his son, not sure that speaks to his intelligence or supposed lack thereof....

@stevieb, she posted her reply a month ago. Just curious -- did you want to resurrect this thread?
