Man, I don't even like Brady but now I at least think he's a cool Dad.
@pigletsmom, I don't understand the above sentence.
Oh, and btw, it's really okay that you asked about the video even if it had come up earlier. :-)
@suzyQ3 I learned from this thread that this entire thing is crazy and most if not all Dads are idiots. So I think the next question should be why would Mom let the kids go anyplace with Dad. It's clear ONLY Moms have any sense at all. Well, except when they let their kids go off with Dad. So hopefully we can soon start questioning her parenting skills. ![]()
In the mean time this girl is probably excitedly telling all of her friends about how she went cliff jumping. And even about how she was ready to jump before her Dad.

Under no circumstances would jumping off a cliff with the potential to hit those rocks would be something I would allow him to do. The outcome may have been a disaster and I highly doubt the replies on this thread would be the same. (Yes, I watched the video)
A seven year old child does not have the experience or ability to judge such a situation. That is why we are in a position to Protect our children from harm.
I have no idea who Tom Brady is as I do not follow football. Anyone could have been with this child and I would hold the same opinion.
I would agree with you except that he was right there with her. Holding her hand, guiding her, etc. Without adult supervision this would have been dangerous for a young child for sure. But he clearly knew what he was doing and he took his time. There was nothing impulsive or reckless about it. He wasn't filming her, he wasn't off to the side or watching from afar. (Or not watching her at all, which sadly is the norm for many parents.) He was right there with her, and doing it with her.
There's potential for injury in a lot of activities. This is no more dangerous than jumping on a trampoline or skiing or a whole lot of other things that kids do.
I am not a Tom Brady fan. But I have no problem with this at all.
Yes, he did it with her and all the more ridiculous as a parent’s role is to teach and not encourage risky behavior.
If she had hit the rocks, I seriously doubt this thread would be comparing it to skiing and jumping on a trampoline.

Most if not all dads are not idiots. Moms are not the only ones with any sense at all.
Gisele looked pretty excited herself.

You have to admit, there are a lot of women on these boards who just downright hate all men.
Of course, they would never admit that they hate men.

Obviously, there are risks involved. Parents don't always make the best decisions. I think in this case, it looked worse than it actually was.
I agree.

Plenty of contempt here for a vactioning family having a good time where nothing but fun occurred. Imaginings coupled with this contempt seems a dark place to be yet some will jump deep into it. Pun intended. Contempt seems to come so much easier than any other emotion especially in groups. I want to be wrong about that but not holding by breath.
There's enough awful in this world aleady without this unnecessary awfulizing thanks to an article that led it along.

@Anonymous032819, I can count on one finger the poster that I suspect might have some negative feelings toward men. Otherwise, I've never encountered any such inferences.

The video I saw was Tom was asking her if she wanted to do it, and you could see her shaking her head "yes". She even leaned over somewhat to jump. Now yes, she did hesitate but Tom held on tight. There are lots of other things in this world to get upset about that have long term consequences, not this IMHO.

But what IF something unfortunate did happen to the kid? Would it then be the fault of the Resort for allowing children below a certain age up to that diving spot?
After what happened w/Grandpa on the other topic up for discussion, would the Brady's then sue because the Resort was at fault somehow? Tis a slippery slope - no pun intended.
