I don't think he outright lied either..What would be the point..he would have to go back again another day. They would rather get rid of the item the first time around.
Maybe you were in the shower/facilities..on the computer etc. and you did not hear them stop by?

so are mine! my USPS lady has a son that went to school with mine and since she found that out a few years ago we always chat. my DH always jokes that my UPS guy and i are too dang friendly! once i had a package and DH went to the door to get it and he asked him if i was ok because he had not seen me in a week!
he asked him if i had been sick because that was unusual. DH did not like that at all. i told him he is worth his weight in gold to me!![]()

You should ask UPS whether they require signature for delivery because you live in a multi-unit building. When I lived apartments and then in a condo complex and UPS always left sticky notes with delivery attempt. There is no reason for them to "lie". I was never home in the daytime so I would call them and have the package redelivered to my work. NBD. UPS packages also have a smaller square sticker with a code for delivery. And they have to make one delivery attempt before they re-route, hence the sticker.

I have always had good service from the UPS drivers; they earn their pay, believe me. My son is a driver and the pressure the company puts on these guys is unbelievable; even have to wear a monitor so as to account for every minute.They are frequently followed unknowingly by management to see what they are doing and there is little forgiveness once you have an accident, maybe 2 in ten years. They do seem to hire only friendly guys which is smart of them.. They do have a lot more business because so many people shop on line these days.
My son told me that some days it is impossible to empty the truck but most of the time everything is delivered before closing time. He never gets back to the hub until 7:30pm; they have to be on the job at 9:00am. Yes, they do make good money and receive good benefits but they never stop, often working through their lunch hours. You certainly can't be an uptight guy to handle these jobs and if a woman does drive a truck it's a small one; not woman's work.

Hilo....see, this is what I mean. Every employee is allowed to take a lunch break and UPS is just too cheap to buy more brown trucks and hire more personnel so that overtime is not mandatory. The UPS driver that hit a resident out here....a 50 year old teacher who died probably would still be living, if the UPS driver had not been overworked. That driver used to be on our route too but was transferred to another area where he had been working for about two years before it happened and like your son was constantly overworked. Well I'm doing UPS a great big favor! I'm taking my business elsewhere!

UPS is pretty good but I have had them say they made an attempt to deliver a package when they have not.
My regulars are okay but the subs lie like rugs!

I recommend signing up for an account with UPS. It doesn't cost anything, you just have to register, and then whenever a delivery is due, you get an email the day before to let you know it will be that day. They then follow up with a more specific delivery time (again by email).
I got an email last night to let me know my Amazon order will be arriving today; this morning they narrowed it down to between 10.45am and 2.45pm. Having that narrower window is much better than staying in all day, only for them to deliver at 6pm.

Now I have an addendum: normally, my UPS driver rings the bell to let me know he delivered. Today, he did not ring or knock, but because I have UPS notifications, they sent me an email to say it's been delivered. My item won't be sitting outside saying "steal me" to people driving past, because I know it's there and can fetch it inside.

We love our UPS guy.
He told me he didn't like leaving a package on the door step if no one was home, so he devised a way to let me know he'd been there and then told me where he'd put it so no one could see.
He is such a sweetheart, and always has something cheerful to say.
