Hi R&R
I got to know our UPS man very well when we lived in our townhome for 20 years. Even had him in a few times to try out some of the new exercise machines he delivered to me for my gym. When we weren't home he knew he could leave any package on the back deck because our townhome was on a lot we owned along with the house, and there was nothing behind our deck but lots of trees and a little traveled 2 lane street.
Since we have lived in this home for over 14 years, I also know my UPS man very well. Since we have few neighbors and they live rather far from our home, he can leave any package on our patio room porch and there is no way anyone can see it, not even the closest neighbor.
No our USPS man? We had a lady for years and she was very dependable and nice to us all the time. We live on a drive route(also did in our townhomes)and she will deliver package to our patio porch as opposed to leaving them by our mailbox.
Along comes this new guy and he comes back to deliver a package and says "I didn't think anyone lived here". I says, What?? He then proceeds to tell me we haven't taken our mail out of the mailbox for 3 weeks. I won't even tell you what I had to say to that lying piece of *******.
Anyways, sorry to here about your UPS problems. Just wanted to let you know that ours could not be better. Now the USPS?

Thank you all and HockyNut that is something else. I am having trouble with the new mail lady also and so are other people here on our block........where I lived for 8 years I had no trouble across town with UPS ever but since I have been here there have been many mistakes........I did call and report......they said he came by at 2pm........he did not come to my door because I have been waiting all day for the knock on the door.........they said they would bring tomorrow and I said really you need to bring it now but since you won't and she said you can come and get it and I said what do you think I paid shipping for? He did not knock on my door but put that he stopped and no one was home and my car has not moved since Friday........so he lied......

I'm glad to say I haven't had any problems with UPS. They always ring the bell and are gone before I can even look out the peephole... and the package is sitting right outside the door so there is no chance anyone can get to it before I do. When I am not home is a different story but that hasn't happened too often for me to worry about it, nothing has ever been stolen.

Happy nothing has been taken.......thank you all.......well see tomorrow if I get my packages. I won't be able to leave so no telling when I will get out but I will eat an sandwich tomorrow night......I hope. Getting tired of fish.

many years ago....my sister called me and was ranting and raving why did you not accept my package....why did I have UPS send it back to her....
I had no idea what she was talking about....
turns out she sent me one of her surprise packages and UPS did not deliver it to me...just sent it back to her....
I asked my neighbor, downstairs, if she seen or heard the UPS man and she had not...I guess he didn't want to be bothered stopping and wrote return to sender on the package...
that is the only incident I have had with UPS...since then...and many deliveries, from everywhere, later...not a problem...
don't get me started with USPS....!!!!

My regular UPS driver is great! As is my regular USPS lady. However, in both cases the subs mostly leave a lot to be desired.

UPS is awesome, IMO. They have a tough job and when I see them out of their truck somewhere, they are literally "running". They have to work every day until their truck is empty, so I see no reason why your UPS guy/gal would purposely say they stopped when they didn't.

UPS leaves stuff on my front porch all the time. Unless the sender designates that the package has to be signed for, there is no rule against leaving the package on a porch, etc. They also don't work until their truck is empty. That isn't always possible. If a package must be signed for and the receiver isn't home, they leave a form on the door and take the package back with them.
I really am not a UPS fan and I request things come to me via USPS if they can. Every package I ever get from UPS looks like they ran it over with the truck before they set it on my porch. Packages/boxes are filthy, broken open, holes in the box, etc.
My UPS driver also isn't careful about paying attention to what street he is on delivering packages. In my development, all the streets have the same house numbers on each one. Many times the driver delivers my packages to a street behind me with the same house number and I get their packages. We used to just deliver them ourselves and then decided UPS needed to be notified so they knew this was happening and the driver would be more careful. They scan in that the package was delivered and left on the porch (or wherever they leave it) and that might be the case but it doesn't mean they left it at the right house.
