I know people loved AN but outside of jewelry I didn't not think she was a great host. Outside of fashion, I don't think Gabrielle was a great host and I don't think Kristine was host material no matter what she was selling. The only one I thought was well rounded was Stacey.
I agree with you totally about Kristine.... But Stacy was just OK.....she came off as bored with her job and she had no chemistry with David.....

A business sole purpose is to make money.
Why people have such difficulty understanding that basic concept, I don't know.
People across this country are losing their jobs, and yes, some of them have been with the same employer for over two decades.
But a business will do what it has to do to stay operational.
Even if it means letting go of long term employees.
That is true of ANY business.
I don't understand it, either. Invariably, someone will accuse some company of "just being in it for the money" ... like that is somehow a bad thing. Mind boggling because it's such a basic principle. Go figure.

Seriously? I loved Antonella too but I am not about to stop shopping because a company had to make personnel decisions. Sure, it is sad the hosts that were laid off, but I don't know them personally. SMH

@RespectLife I totally agree. It's never easy to lose a job, particularly, a long time position. Even, if you weren't exactly, living your dream, you were earning a living, and it was familiar.
If I learned a B&M store, had terminated an employee, I really liked, would I stop shopping there? Not for that reason.
We have no idea what led to the decisions; for all we know, the employee could have been "hanging by a thread", for quite awhile.
It's too bad, but, it happens!

Apparently - some people watch QVC for entertainment by the hosts.
I watch when they are selling stuff I would possibly buy. Many times an annoying host caused me to switch channels and then check items recently on air.

Well, we're paying for it, why not? How is this a new concept? This is what QVC was designed to be 34 years ago.

I agree, that I don't watch the Q for entertainment, ie:silliness. I want to know the essentials about the item for sale. If I have to turn off the host, I am not buying! There are too many other venues available to purchase what I want without all the hype & craziness.
I dis-like waiting 3 or 4 weeks or more for my order. Also, free shipping is a nice perk!

Yes, businesses need to be profitable and I'm all for that. But it's always employees who take the hits while the execs keep getting their huge bonuses, salaries, and stock while inefficiences and unnecessary functions/processes stay. It's the new American way.
@CalminHeart There is absolutely nothing new about that. In fact it is getting better than it used to be.
I worked for a huge international Fortune 500 corporation for nearly 40 years. I was in a position to know what HR and corporate thought and the reasoning behind decisions. They haven't improved or changed at all. In fact, they just made another round of pay cuts and benefit cuts for employees while ignoring a huge number of other issues and days after the CEO and other senior execs received huge bonuses.
In any case, we'll have to agree to disagree.

"a business will do what it has to do to stay operational.".
Yes, but if a business REALLY wants to stay operational it shouldn't throw MILLIONS pandering to a certain political group of people.
And quoting you again "That is true of ANY business.".

It is all about the bottom line. My DH was laid off due to his salary (he is 65). QVC will not be the same without Antonella (and I really have no favorites), but she was 'class' especially the southwest jewelry show which is all that I watch now.
I get it, money talks, but will miss the "three" that recently left because of Q2 being all repeat shows.
