@Laura14  Please excuse me for saying this, but as a resident of NE Ohio (think Lake Erie lake-effect snow), I'm finding this thread rather amusing!   No snow here yet, but we're expecting some later today just along the lake shore (which is where I live).  Got the Mustang trunk loaded up with my free weights last night!

@2blonde  No excuse necessary!  I'm originally from Jersey so this is pure entertainment every year. Smiley Very Happy

A little unusual because we didn't get the breaking news report of the first reporter who had to travel five hours into the North Georgia mountains to show us the first snow fall of the season but I'll take it.

An inch of snow here doesn't even make us blink or bring out the plows.  LOL

I have a relative who moved from Ohio to South Carolina and she said they close down schools for an inch of snow.  LOL

@Lipstickdiva @Laura14  Maybe it will just keep blowing around and finally land in Atlanta!  (It's been doing the same thing here, but I won't be on my way home until around 7:30 tonight, so we shall see!)

@Laura14  If I had to drive your Fiat in snow, I think I'd just find a big tracter trailer and drive myself right up into it!  Cat Very Happy

ROFLMAO!  OMG that's funny!  Smiley LOL  Kind of like a toddler being dragged around on a baby blanket.  Leave the driving to the professionals and save gas too!

We are a officially under a winter weather advisory from 5am tomorrow until 7am Saturday for a half inch to an inch.   I am laughing so hard I can't breathe!

I know some of you will celebrate but if I disappear in this hazardous blizzard, you knew me when.  Smiley LOL

Another Buckeye here, and I remember watching on the news, a couple of years ago (maybe? Time gets away from me), highways full of people stranded in Atlanta and there was not even enough snow to totally cover the roads.

I know they aren't prepared with the proper equipment, but if people would just slow down and focus, they would see that it really isn't that hard to drive in snow. They might see how in other places, people drive in many inches of snow, even without plows or salt trucks making the rounds yet.

There is a learning curve to bad weather driving, but a lot of it is simply slowing down, making no quick moves, allowing space, and thinking ahead.

We had a famous blizzard here in 1978, and the winter before that was just as bad. Those were the years I learned to drive. I was initiated in the most extreme conditions and it has served me well!

I never worry about myself and bad weather driving, it's worrying about what others on the road are doing!
