 @gertrudecloset The clip was from one of those 90 fiance type shows. I haven't actually seen the show, but the situation reminded me of several identical dilemmas I've faced in my own life, when a friend wants/expects you to support their delusions.

  I've always tried to orient people to reality but that usually results in the loss of a friendship.

  In reading these replies, I realize that the friend is crossing a boundary by even asking the question. I've lost at least 2 friendships over this but now I believe I would just refuse to answer.

  I don't usually like people who want you to lie to make them feel better, anyway.......

Oh, ok.  Thanks because your synopsis of it sounds interesting.  I must say I'm not a big fan of these supposed reality shows though @BoopOMatic .  I guess it good to have some mind numbing programming to slow down during the day.

I would let my friend down gently and tell her he is not the one but support whatever her decision is.  You can't make someone do something that they have their heart set on.  It sounds like she feels she is running out of time getting older and desperate to hold on to the youth.

Yeah, they aren't really "reality."  Some of what's going is true.  It is scripted though @Bridgegal

Then there's the Vegas guy chasing after the beautiful blonde girl overseas who lied and said she would meet him and gave a fake town and address yet he kept going back to find her . he gave her a ring and she ghosted him.(i think she ended up with one of the desperate twin's ex-fiance)

  and another man who worked in a nail salon also madly in love with a different overseas blonde who was really mean to him on a reunion show.

And the mom who txtd the guy in England and iirc she gave him money to help him and her grown kids kept telling her he was a scammer, she just couldn't believe he was fake!

I remember the nail salon guy. He sent the woman 40,000 in five years I think without ever meeting her.
