@Desertdi  I gave up when I got in my SUV a couple years ago & the home screen map knew where I was going before I even left. It was a friday & I was going to my local pizza joint for our friday nite pizza routine.  Yeah, in my opinion,  Google does "know everything" LOL  Now, I've gone all in with the Google Nest outdoor cameras & things.  I love it & don't have anything to really hide.  They're probably bored with me & my routines Smiley Very Happy  @Kachina624  I hope you were able to get thru to them!!

@Foxxee

I started working for Western Electric in 1958. It was part of the Bell System, called Ma Bell.

In 1984 a Federal Judge named Greene, decided Ma Bell was a monopoly, and it was split into 3 companies. Western Electric then became an arm of AT&T. Later, after I retired, became known as Lucent/Avaya, then another name with Solutions as part of its name.

Doubt there were many, if any, Multibillion dollar corporations back in 1984, but the few I mentioned might be Trillion dollar monopolies in the present.

Talk about control of billions of people's lives by these monopolies, Ma Bell paled in comparison. It was pretty much telephone communication, which did not involve what daily news can and cannot be shared. As for Google?  Enter some words and you get decades old news, others you get censored news, usually with the corporation's view only.

Started with WE in 1958, retired from AT&T 33 years, to the day, later. Because of the Judge Greene decision, I retired(an hourly worker) 2 pay grades lower than the day I hired on with WE.

It is the only way to end it, but!  "They" are part of it. The only way I see it ending is being put on a national ballot for all to vote, not just "they" that reap some of the benefits.

This is why there should always be a 2nd email address on your account.  If you had one, you would not have this problem.  I think your only option is to set up a new Google account.  Even though they tell us not to, I have ALL my passwords written down and stored in a safe place and that has saved me more than once.

Yes, they merged, bought out others, forced out start-up competition, became behomoths, but were permitted to do it.

All are pretty much corrupt today and "in on it."  It isn't only communications/ high tech companies, most large companies are involved and will continue to be as long as they can get away with it.

Amazon is right in there, but look at how consumers love it.  They love fast shipping so much, they refuse to look at the corruption going on inside the company.

I don't think most of the public is knowledgeable enough about this issue to vote wisely.

It's considered perfectly fine to have more than one Gmail account. Start up a new Gmail account, and they can send you the emails there.

@hckynutjohn    Back in the early days of my career in state government, Western Electric did all their hiring through the employment service.  Their HR rep was a permanent fixture in our office where he did all his interviewing.  I referred many, many people to them for the "central office installer" position over the years.  This was in Houston.

@Kachina624 - Don't know if this has anything to do with your problem, but about a month ago I got an email from Google stating they were going to the two-step verification and I had to fill out a couple of things. They sent me a code which I entered and my comp was recognized so I don't have to fill anything else out when I sign in.

Might this be part of your issue?
