The Power of Google

[ Edited ]

I had no idea how much Google controls the internet until I tangled with them.  It started when I was required to enter my Google password to sign up for a service.  I couldn't remember it, and although I use their password manager, it wasn't there.

I was able to correctly enter my PIN then they wanted my name.  I entered the same one I've used for 56 years.  They said it was wrong.  I tried every password I can recall using.  All wrong.

My YouTube streaming service is disabled, I can't get or send email, I tried successfully to sign on to an old Yahoo account but they wanted me to update the format and that was tied into Google so I couldn't use that.  About half of my internet functions are disabled and on their password resolution I just go around in circles.  They want to send an email for verification but I can't get any email.  There is no phone to call to talk to anyone.  Before I got deadlocked I changed to a new password using a texted verification code but when I enter it, it says it's been changed.  Yep, I changed it.

They have a super password verification procedure where they'll get back to you in 2-6 days but how can they do that with no email communication?

What to do?  Any suggestions? I'm at my wit's end.

Create another e-mail account to receive the verification?

I was going to ask if you had a second email account set up as a backup to this one. If not, I agree with @RoughDraft to set up another one in order to get email verification.

@Kachina624   I googled Google CustomerService and there were 2 phone numbers in the results:

1-888-303-0813

1-800-419-0157 (for product issues)

I hope this helps you.

@Kachina624   I had issues with them once and I made a new email.  I don't use my real name or Birth Date.  THat is what I would recommend because they don't need all your personal information especially for places like You Tube.  Many people Hack on You Tube so it is a good idea to not use your real name.  I use outlook as my address.  If you make up a account, then you can use their email and just put junk mail in that account.  Good Luck!

@Desert Lily   Bless you.  They mentioned setting up another account but I figured it would wipe out everything under the old one plus it probably would reject the email address I've used for 25 years.

I'll try that phone number.

@Kachina624   I hate to say this, but you may have been

hacked.

@Kachina624    Making a new account with different information will not wipe out your original account.   It is good to have a back up account for things like this.

Are you all talking about setting up another Google account or a different provider?  As I said, I have a Yahoo account but couldn't get into it.
