The New Way to Process Refunds???

This could actually be an old way, but it's certainly new to me:

I needed to return a pair of Ryka sport slides that I purchased from Amazon.  There was no invoice or return label inside the packaging.

I went online and had a selection of return options, one of which was to have a UPS QR Return Code sent to my email address.

Then I just take my shoes (they don't even have to be in the original packaging at all) to any UPS drop off store.  I show them the QR code from my phone.  UPS scans my code and prints out my receipt.

I live 5 miles from the UPS store.  When I walked through my apartment door, Alexa had a message waiting for me to tell me my return was processed and the full refund (zero cost to return) was applied to my original method of payment.  I checked and yes it was there.

That's a first for me. No labels, no invoice, no worries about packaging, immediate, no-cost, total refund.

@Janey2   Good to know, thank you!

I order from Amazon all the time.  But I return very little (probably less that 1%).

@Caaareful Shopper    Yes, I've used that service to return an Amazon purchase quite some time ago.  The UPS Store is just about 2 miles from me.  Very convenient as is QVC's USPS pick up.

@Caaareful Shopper .  So easy and efficient isn't it?!

You've probably seen this too, they also have Kohl's and Whole Foods locations to return an item in the same manner, no box, no invoice just the QR Code.

Yes @rockygems123  I saw those options too.  I contemplated using Whole Foods, but they have my favorite [and expensive] crab cakes.  I was trying to be good so I acted like I didn't see that. Smiley Wink

I love this from Amazon.  Within a few hours you have your refund.

Amazon has done that for a while. It's wonderful customer service. As soon as your return is scanned by UPS, Amazon is notified & a refund is issued. Easy peasy, no stress or annoying phone calls.

I returned to Amazon this way for years.  It is wonderful!!

You can drop off at UPS or Kohl's.  If anyone is hesitant to take Amazon merchandise back to Kohl's...don't!  They have an area in the store, you take your merchandise along with return barcode, and they pack it up and return for you.

They will give you a receipt and there is a coupon for Kohl's for a discount or money off a purchase.

After Kohl's packs up the merchandise at the end of the day, I get an email and Alexa alert my return has been credited.

@Caaareful Shopper On a recent Andrew Zimmern's Family Dinner show the family has a seafood business.  Can't remember the name now but before shipping their crab cakes are $24.95 ea.  Shipping was about $100 for six.

He said during the episode that he has a good crab cake recipe, I printed it out and think I'll buy lump crab at Costco or Sam's.  Smiley Happy
