I wish I'd read more about the Box Turtle 🐢 before I posted. I just learned that this type is found in the Eastern US and Mexico. It says that a box turtle has a distinctive hinged lower shell that allows it to completely enclose itself. I just assumed all turtles are able to do this.😃❤️

I didn't realize turtles symbolize those things either. I always wanted to visit Japan too. One of my friends got to go as an exchange student when we were in high school.😃

I thought he looked like he was posing and even grinning for the camera too lol. I hope to see a few more this summer. I was initially hoping to get some pics of this beautiful, but very elusive yellow bird I keep seeing. Maybe one day I will. They startle so easily, I don't know if I'll ever get one.🤞

Aww, @cheriere what a dapper little turtle!! We had a couple of Desert Tortoises when we were growing up and we loved them! They each had their own personality too.

A desert tortoise sounds right up my alley! I'll bet they're super cute!
I'm just used to seeing our little box turtles or mud turtles. The mud turtles are the mean ones lol. There's an old saying here that if a mud turtle bites you, it won't let go until it thunders lol. I wonder how these old sayings got started.😂

Very cute turtle @ cheriere! I believe it is breeding/nesting time for turtles. They are out and about crossing roads where there are ponds and streams.
