🐢 TURTLE WATCHING 🐢

I was out again early this morning doing my bird watching and trying to get some interesting pics. Then, out of the corner of my eye, here comes a small object creeping slowly up the driveway! It was a beautiful Box Turtle 🐢. I couldn't resist getting some pics, as he or she was just so handsome.😃

What a very handsome fellow!

My son's first box turtle friend he named Michelangelo. Teenage Mutant Turtles were very big then!

We have one just like that, that comes back to the same spot in our yard every year. I just let it visit.

The only time dad MAKES me take them back into the woods is after they've ate too many tomatoes from the garden lol.

@cheriere That is such a cute turtle, Cheriere ! I love its little legs and face! I really like turtles- I have little turtle statues made of carved stones and shells on top of my dresser and a medium sized carved wooden turtle that I got at a flea market. I like how turtles take it easy and go at their own pace. Super cute photos and I love that little turtle picked you as a new buddy!

@cheriere He is a beautiful specimen. My favorite photo is the one where he had had enough of the situation and withdrew to his chambers.

I've always loved turtles too!😃❤️

I was really happy to see him coming. He's the first one I've seen this year too. I tried not to get super close because I didn't want to scare him, but of course I just had to lol. I was really shocked by how fast he walked away too. Fastest little turtle I ever saw!😂

Lol, that's when I got a closer look. I tried to keep my distance and just zoom in with my phone, but I couldn't help myself.😃❤️

He was a fast little turtle too. I couldn't believe how quickly he got away from me.😃

I immediately thought about you and your avatar after I took these pics. I knew I'd post these before any of the birds I got today lol.
