I just ordered some tea from my online tea company and was charged a "special" fee of 78 cents. Not much, but what are all these fees popping up and for how long?

Never heard of that.  Wouldn't have paid those charges.  Would have left the stuff there and walked out.

If you used a credit card, I'd disupte the amount of the charges and only pay the actual product prices plus any tax.  If you used a debit card, I'd go back to the store and try to get the charges removed and credited back to your account.

@Cats3000 Well, I buy all my paint there and they know me, so I don't want to make a stink.  I just hope it is temporary.  As someone else stated, sometimes these special fees are added, and then never taken off.  I know for our business, YEARS ago, UPS added an extra "fuel surcharge" fee because the price of gasoline was especially high then.  Well they still have that fee on all our invoices and have had all along.  I don't pay attention to the percent, to see if it has gone down or up, but I think gasoline should just be part of the cost of doing business.
