@Trailrun23 wrote:As with many "new and revolutionary". ideas, lots of things aren't thought through, and the term "unintended consequences" is a convenient excuse. What exactly is a "green" funeral? is that just no embalming?
@Trailrun23 No embalming although some funeral homes do offer organic embalming-meaning formaldehyde free. Biodegradable non-toxc shroud or clothing and some offer biodegradable non-toxic caskets.
The deceased is placed in the ground which has been prepared either by the funeral home or the family can prepare the ground and lower in the loved one themselves.
Most do not allow gravestones; instead a tree or some type of greenery can be planted or a flat natural stone. Some offer GPS for location purposes.
There are also privately owned lands who offer the service for this type of burial.

This from the same one that signed banning the sale of gas powered vehicles in 2035. And the same one the urged residents not to charge their EV during certain hours, turn your AC up/5 minute showers, etc etc.
Nothing from him shocks me anymore, just another 🤔

What I want to know is ... how much does this cost, compared to other burial options?
Thus far, the weirdest thing (to me) is to just donate your body to science. Who knows where and how you'll end up .....

The entire Southwest has been in a DROUGHT FOR OVER 20 YEARS. We do "what it takes" even if it involves small sacrifices like turning the a/c up a couple degrees, monitoring water usage, etc.

I have lived in CA too long to be surprised at any thing that happens here.

Seems the "we do what it takes", does not include the one who signed the bill. While telling others, in a TV interview, to "turn up your AC"? He is wearing a jacket! Seems a smart person would know how to dress, while telling others, "we are all in this together"! Uh huh

@Tinkrbl44 I agree with donating to science, whatever that entails. Who know how and where you end up. My parents donated to the medical school in their state. You have a number to call when it happens, they have the body picked up right away and bring to the school. The body is for the medical students to learn from. They keep it for two years, cremate and send ashes to the family. They then hold a service at the school for relatives and the students thank them, etc. etc. and then have a luncheon for everyone.
