He may take a tax deduction, but he better hope he's not audited. It probably would be disallowed.

@Nonametoday that´s been happening for years. Even needles. I bought some at the pharmacy and as I paid for them and left the counter I realized I had asked for the wrong unit but they refused to take them back so I had to keep them, and buy the right unit.

After seeing so many people empty the shelves of tp, paper towels, sanitizers, soup, etc. I hope they get stuck with them and don't get their money back if they try and return them. Same goes for those who have posted toilet paper on eBay for $10 a roll...Karma, baby!
If you aren't going to use it or donate it, leave it on the shelf for someone else who needs it!

@Angelpuppy
I was about to post the same thing. I was told this years ago by the pharmacist.
@shoesnbags YOu all do not understand. I saw the packaging at the window and told the pharmacist it was the wrong thing. Please do not give me orders on medication returns. I did not let it cross the red line before I recognized it was the wrong one. But since I touched the box to turn it over and read the label, they will not take it back. All I did was turn it over and saw the label and knnew it was wrong. Perhaps you don't understand about insulin and needles, etc. So read up on how it is packaged.
And this is the federal government, not a state. The federal government took the medication back that was for the wrong person becaues of the packaging. I am sure they disposed of it but they took it back, most likely to show that the person did not get his/her medicine so they could replace it.

I was responding to what you said in your original post. You said,
" I told them I had not even opened it, I just realized it when I got it home and started to put it away."
Now you're saying "I saw the packaging at the window and told the pharmacist it was the wrong thing."
Totally different scenarios. Truly not trying to offend you, just agreeing with another poster that returning Rx meds has not been allowed, even before this virus.
