LOL - the intense dislike has made itself felt, and I expected nothing different - seriously. I have no doubt I will be heaped with scorn and ridicule at every turn as I continue to post here, there and everywhere. Because like the GEICO commercials, the people who feel targeted will attack because...that's just what they do. I'm not buying car insurance from them, though.

I never need people to agree with me, and I never post to "debate." We should be able to disagree, and handle disagreement. No one can do it 100% of the time, and I think adults understand that, as well as the fact that opinions are not commands and directives.

I am never "looking for a fight" but will not lie down if confronted, either.

I'm not sure why you would be ridiculed in the future. One thing I have learned in the past 10 yrs here,  There will be nice people and not so nice people. Nobody as an adult, likes to be told how to act, although sometimes it does need to be said, and of course there will always be push back. You can't change other people. Just Do You.

There will never be "Peace on Earth"... or on this board. 

I love to debate and I miss the folks I could do this with without having the "mean" to go with it.

We are all different for a reason.  We need to respect it and not abuse it at every twist and turn.  Discuss the topic ... not the responder.

At the very least, I'm sure that that will be the spin some will try to put on it ;-)

But some will be "looking too hard" to come up with something, *anything*, and will label any comment at all as a personal attack.

The topic of this thread is carrying things over from other threads to poke at a person for reasons that are OT to the current thread and are personally insulting/unkind, and doing that repeatedly across multiple threads, simply because of a disagreement in 1-2 threads.

I can, and do on occasion, comment negatively *on-topic* about a poster's behavior *in the moment* on that thread. But I have very rarely if ever randomly poo'd on a poster off-topic just for lolz, unless I felt they were a genuine troll.

No doubt some will comment on every negative comment I make, having turned the topic in the OP to "Moonchilde said you should never say anything unpleasant to any other poster ever and here she is doing that!" But that was NOT the specific topic of my thread, and I have never said that no one should ever say anything "not nice" regardless. Nor have I ever indicated that I'm pure as the driven snow - though no doubt I will be accused of same. The OP was about a specific set of circumstances, but will of course be twisted to suit - of course!

Nice sentiment, but I wouldn't hold my breath. I think I have been around about 10 years or so (forget the post count, etc.). It has never changed. 

Sometimes we need to vent, we all do it. But then there are people who just delight in deliberately being nasty. That being said, if someone doesn't agree with you, that doesn't mean they are necessarily insulting or picking on you. (You is generic here.) I don't know if it is a male/female thing or what. I belong to another that is predominantly male and I have had my showdowns. But in the end, everyone pretty much gets along. If you get too stupid and cause trouble, it's See ya.

I do think it's harder here, because there are many users/posters. You have people on here who are supposedly 18 and then those that are 85--plus. We differ in social status, customs and educational background. Most of us are female (hate to say it, but that plays a role too.) As a result, you're going to have fights.
