I thought that everybody knew that the days got longer after the winter solstice.
this is one of the reasons why i dont like daylight savings time. i feel like we are messing with nature. we dont NEED those extra hours of light when daylight savings time hits again in the spring. let nature do its thing......

Two things staying light later does for me, one I lose weight and two because I work in the yard longer and take the dog for two walks a day.

I used to work 6:30AM to 7:30PM so except for the mid summer I went to work in the dark and came home in the dark - in between I spent the entire day inside a building with few windows. I juat couldn't wait for my days off so I could see the sun.

We don't actually get any 'extra hours of light' it is just what the clock is saying the time is when we switch from one time to the other.
We aren't messing with nature at all. The number of daylight hours are going to be what they are regardless of what our clocks are reading.
Many of us need longer daylight hours and anticipate them with excitement starting on the 22nd of December every year, and we celebrate every little minute or three that we are gaining in January.
Many people don't like to drive after dark, can't work outside after dark, are effected by SAD during shorter days.
If you are tied to a clock, which many of us are because of work schedules, school schedules, what time stores or businesses or offices open and close etc. we appreciate not only the days naturally getting longer but the light lasting till later ( on the clock time) to get things done or get around to places in the daylight when the clocks spring forward.

to me, it is messing with nature, because changing the clocks is not a natural thing.....it is a man made edict.there is absolutely no need for it.
just keep it at standard time all year long and i am fine with that.
maybe i should move to arizona or hawaii?

I was also so surprised by how light it still was when I was on my way home Wednesday evening. I guess this year is flying by for me!
