@dex Me too. Bite on neck two years ago. Ended up in the hospital for 3 days due to cellulitis.

I don't kill spiders, I just coexist with them. If they get in the house, I capture them and release them outside. They have a place in the ecosystem.
This is me. @Venezia people should be aware of the good spiders do and put the sprays down. I keep a small cup and piece of cardboard at the ready to capture and relocate them. Works for me😉 (and you!)

The other night there was a BIG spider in the bathroom. Well, I figured Lysol wouldn't kill him. So when I opened the door of the bathroom to get the Raid, he ran into the bedroom.
I made a direct hit on him twice with the Raid and I think he is still around. I looked all over with a flashlight and could not find him. Now I keep wondering where he is in the bedroom. And will I wake up if he crawls on me. EEEWWWW!
THEN this morning I went into the garage and another BIG spider ran out of the garage into the laundry room.
I don't get it. I have never seen these big spiders in the house before and 2 within one week? I guess I should always have a can of RAID nearby.

I have always been fascinated by spiders. Growing up on my grandmother's farm, we had an "outhouse". I loved to spend time in there because there was this spider who weaved the most beautiful webs. I watched him do that and when he was done, I tossed a tiny ball of paper into it. The spider came immediately and removed it and repaired the web. I have to say it was only a small spider and I wouldn't want them in the house, but they are fascinating.

@drizzellla@We don’t get too many in the house because I use those plug-in things that repell...have one in every room.

This was a BIG spider so I had no problem killing it, but I think I missed, so spider friends can rejoice that one escaped. LOL. I am ready for it if I see it again but this was so large I am not keen on getting too close. I had the perimeter of my house sprayed but maybe with all the rain it isn't as effective. I am seeing more bugs than usual. I'm going to try the hairspray trick next time and see if it works. And maybe it's time for the pest company to pay me another visit.
Anyway, the front of my house looked ready for Halloween with that huge web. This spider was smart, he made the web near the light which attracted all kinds of flying insects that could easily get stuck in the web.

Have you been getting a lot of rain? I have and wonder if that is why the bugs and spiders are more noticeable.

@fthunt wrote:I've noticed they are big and fat this time of year and make huge webs. They're fast when feel in danger....keep a can of hairspray nearby - be very calm - aim can as up close to them as possible - and then FIRE. Sticky hairspray will dry and freeze their 'parts' from moving. Shhh - take good aim!
YES, @fthunt hairspray and silicone hairspray is even better ! I keep a small travel can size of it at arms lenght at all times. I haven't found anything that works as well !! I had a small invasion of black spiders last year, it was awful they were everywere, I was killing up to 5 a day ! I don't know what I would have done without my hairspray.
