"Some passengers on a Southwest Airlines flight from Denver suffered minor injuries when the plane appeared to suddenly lose cabin pressure as it neared Dallas.

Flight 861 had 120 people on board Saturday night when oxygen masks deployed and the pilots declared an emergency as the plane approached Dallas Love Field.

Southwest said in a statement Monday that the flight crew reduced altitude but that the cabin did not depressurize.

Paramedics met the flight at the gate and treated four people for ear pain."

....and this weekend, there were probably 4 people

injured or actually dying in car accidents on the

highways of America.  My gut says this is only reported

because they’ve been in the news lately.

never heard anything about this on Saturday or Sunday, and I am in the Dallas area

I read about it on line, my daughter is flying on Thurs with Southwest and I am a little nervous.

I hope this news coverage prompts airlines to step up inspections and safety maintenances

DH and I used to fly only Southwest all the time.  We thought they had pretty good safety records and we got very good service and treatment from them.  Now --- my goodness -- what the heck happened?  I would think twice or more about flying with them now.

We booked a flight to Orlando in October.....I am starting to get a little nervous. I never worried about flying Southwest before.....
