Yes, that made me smile this morning - so true!

@Greeneyedlady21 I seriously hate that I live in a state that doesn’t appear to care. There aren’t any rules, at least none regarding masks and social distancing. If it is only “suggested” no one bothers here.

Thank you for your very thoughtful post.
I am finding the same. Some as if there was no virus at all to those who are very cautious in the same place!
It's very weird and still scary.

It's the Yin and Yang of life....this morning I drove passed a coffee shop....four people waiting outside all had masks on and seemed to be distanced from one another at the appropriate distance and being patient, now travel down the road about 5 miles to a popular small bridge that people like to fish on...just opened up and only on one side the other side is closed and has barriers up on both ends , but there were people on it anyway and I watched as people lifted their kids over the barriers and then climbed over them, such a simple thing to follow but many don't care and I'm afraid will never follow the rules ...doesn't matter if it is something so simple or it's to protect someone else or themselves...

It's hit and miss where I live. Some places require masks and many don't.
I wish they were mandatory everywhere.

Starting Friday our Governor in VA made mask wearing mandatory inside buildings and social distancing. Outdoor eating only. I only eat at home! I don't see my family
I only go out for groceries occasionally and walk dogs on my wide street. I sometimes go to the lake and it's wooded, no swimming but peaceful. This is my life now.
I'm glad the Governor is requiring masks in stores now!

@MominohioAlthough I will continue to keep my old self out of any crowds as much as possible, I'm way less worried about infection for those in the crowds outdoors that move continuously than I would be about a bar crowd or a massive church service.
My reading of sources I respect seems to have added length of contact as a negative factor as they've learned more about the virus - a quick visit to a supermarket, say, being way less dangerous than working an 8-hour shift in there. Still - I'll continue to try to go just every 2 weeks. And I can easily skip restaurants and bars and auditoriums of any kind for many more months.

@Mominohio : in my hot spot, barely open area everyone wears masks in public places. Few choose to wear them outdoors.
I will not be dining in restaurants, indoors or out, at least until after the summer. For multiple reasons I plan my shopping trips for early and late in the day and not on weekends so that I am around as few people as possible.
My greatest takeaway from the pandemic is how much money I was spending before it happened. I am fortunate that so far my income has not been impacted and I very concerned for those whose incomes have been reduced or lost. Awful. Retail therapy was costing me plenty. Of course I have done my share of online shopping, but I need to continue to be more thoughtful about my spending and have more funds available for much needed charitable causes and savings.
I have also noticed many younger people who are careless about wearing masks as well as how they wear them. I have seen multiple teens and others whose masks do not cover their noses! Social distancing also seems to be less strict after months of it.
Sadly, I would not be surprised to see an uptick of cases in the coming days and weeks around the country. We need to look out for ourselves and for others. Most Americans do, yet many remain self-centered.

@Mominohio Have there been any announcements there about K-12 schools for fall? I was reading online today about a Massachusetts district that has let go all music, art, and P.E. teachers. Some were commenting on that article by saying Ohio schools are getting ready to do the same. I thought that was odd considering your earlier comments in this thread and wondered if you had heard anything like that?
