Why on earth would people have to keep their pets indoors during an eclipse???

I feel like some people think there's something worse about looking at the sun during an eclipse . Um no. You're not supposed to ever look at the sun. It's just that normally you don't have any reason to look at it, and during an eclipse you want to see what's going on.

I'm sure that pets (and other animals) don't think an eclipse is worth looking at.

@PamelaSue72

Yep - animals don't look directly at the sun above like we stoopid hoomans do.  ;-)

Thousands gathered in the small town of Salem, Oregon (pictured is the eclipse at around 9.50am PDT from Salem) to get a glimpse of the event

After a few minutes, a sliver of light was seen escaping from behind the moon as it carried on its trajectory

Re: Solar eclipse-o-philes FYI

I live in the path of totality and it was breathtaking!

It was dark as midnight for about a 30 seconds to a minute  and the sun looked like a glowing ring.  No glasses needed at this point.  It was so beautiful  like an act of god. It is AMAZING that this is all mother nature  natural occurring event.
