I turn 65 in April. CANNOT believe it.

I am waiting for SS until 66 though. Need the money!

I know, isn't it depressing!   How did the time go so fast?  Mentally I feel stuck in my 30s, but my arthritis is starting to tell me otherwise.  The only thing I was overjoyed about when turning 65 was Medicare eligibility.

I keep warning my nephew and his wife about how time flies, but like me they will just have to experience it on their own.

I had a hard time when I turned 60 - 3 years later and I still don't like seeing it, saying it, writing it or hearing it.  I know it's just a number but that doesn't mean I have to like it except for the fact that I signed up for SS when I turned 59 + 3...Smiley Wink

Be thankful that you're alive and able to sign up for SS.  Several of my co-workers didn't live that long.  I'm sure they'd have been happy to reach the "SS Collecting" age.

My husband just turned 65 on Sunday. We got him all signed up for Medicare & supplements, but we're going to be working until I turn 65 in two years...just can't afford the medical insurance for me!

Getting older is not easy but it's better than the alternative, lol.

@CelticCrafter they keep telling us that age is just a number but why is that number so mean.I like the 6 but when you stick on a 0 it doesn't roll off the tongue well at all.I also noticed that people start looking at you as frail too.Do you need help getting your bag to the car?Would you like to sit down and wait? You shouldn't be doing that etc. While I think it is kind to offer help I don't like the reminder that I look old enough to need it.

I turn 72 years old this year!  I never thought I'd be that old!

I think I actually get upset/angry when people say I don't look 71.  I've thought about it and I think I know why.

Because sometimes I really, really feel like I'm 71!  If I didn't ache (bad back and arthritis) maybe I'd be less offended!  Ha!

I always say, "My brain says "go go go" and my body says "no no no"!  Ha!

Other than bad back and fibromyalgia I'm in good health, so I'm happy about that.  I need to loose some weight but it's not real bad.

You know when I feel REALLY old!   When I realize my oldest daughter turns 45 middle daughter turns 43 and youngest daughter turns ..... Oh! My! 38 this year.

None of them look their age (just runs in family), but still to me the numbers are daunting!  You know what I mean?

Oh!  An my oldest granddaughter just got her driver's license!  At least she can drive grandma (me) around!  Ha!  I hate to drive.
