@cindyNC   known several people in my life that have taken this way out. All different methods.  One thing I deeply feel, so,etimes people are in so much pain or darkness, they can't find their way out with a pick and shovel.  There is no light at the end for them.  In some cases, people do get drunk, really drunk and do hasty, irrational things.  It is sad, that's why to me it so important not to,assume how anyone really feels.  You never know.

I just saw that.  Oh my, I would never have imagined that.  I feel so sad about her.  I wonder what it was that made her do this.  She always seemed so upbeat, positive and happy.  But I guess you never know what people are really going through and what they truly feel.  When I first heard of her passing, I really felt so bad.  She was truly one of my very favorite chefs on t.v. and t.v. personalties.  I can hear her saying --- "brown food tastes good" - and "blanch and chock, blanch and chock".  On worst cook, she always had the red team and would say something like - c'mon over, my rockin' red stars!  RIP, Anne, you are and will be so very much missed!  So sad for her husband, family and friends.

I hate to think about how desperate a person must feel to commit suicide. It breaks my heart.

My sister's husband killed himself last year. I'll never forget my sister calling and all she could do was scream so I said I was on my way. A detective called shortly after that and told me she needed me but I was already halfway there.

They were married 35 years. The trauma for my sister and our whole family was unimaginable. 

His suicide was on my birthday. This year, I took my sister out for the afternoon and dinner just to be with her. All I thought about this birthday was him and the impact on my sister.

My youngest daughter was in junior high school and had a very close friend who came from a hard life, and that young girl killed herself with pills...died in her sleep

That left such a scar on my daughter.  Ironically, the friends name was Angel.  My daughter had a tough demeanor and went on to be a Chicago Police Officer but if she were to recount that time,  it left a distinct mark.

Suicide is the last act of free will.  It may relieve sickening pain for the individual but it is

disasterous for those left behind, which has been described as an act of control.

The whole thing is very sad. I have watched her for years--she had her own show back in the day when it was a cooking show and not games. Loved the Worst cooks show tho--she was hilarious. Am very sad that this has happened.  In fact, her new season of that show will be premiering soon--hard to watch knowing she is gone.

You can never tell about someone’s suffering. But, I find the combination of drugs very odd & if you were about to commit suicide, would you shower? I might think it was accidental but to state it was suicide, they would have to be sure & had facts unknown to the public.

Very bizarre. We never know what is really going on in the lives of others.

Very sad and so true that we don't know the inner torment others are going through, even successful people who seemingly have everything going for them.  I remember being shocked (still am) over designer Kate Spade's suicide several years ago.
