So cold that my smoke detector started beeping! I didn't know they did that! Finally got it to stop by closing bedroom door ( the coldest room). Currently snuggled on couch in my slanket with my cat! -24 this morning!

How strange. I love my slanket!

It's always a victory for me when I remember why I entered a room.

It works but the insulation is not up to handling this bitter cold. By the way, landlady lives in Phoenix!

Ah, those are the days I hang a blanket over glass doors, open any cabinet with a pipe while letting faucets slowly drip, wear my sweats and read a good book.

I see. My home is older with old windows that do not have the energy factor like the new ones.... lots of drafts.

Wind chills here this morning are running 30-40 below as well.

Do you have old blankets/sheets? You can put them up over your windows or patio door/entry door to insulate against the cold.

Staying huddled in your warmest room is a great idea. Can you hang a blanket up over an entryway to the hall, etc to contain the heat to one room?

Put a pot of water on top of the stove without a lid to boil. Raising the humidity in your place will help to make it feel warmer.

I remember having to run the faucets at a drip during the night to keep them from freezing when I was a kid.

Stay warm, I HATE the cold!!!!!!!!!!
