Like many others, it is beyond bitterly cold here today (Chicago suburb). It is about -15 degrees, with wind chill of about -50 degrees. It is windy, and snow is blowing.

What I learned is that cable tv and internet are affected.

Lost cable tv around 1am this morning. Since we have Comcast, it is my internet service too. Just got both services back.

What I learned is that COLD affects these services!!

Did Comcast blame your outage on the cold? I'm curious because our internet and phone were out for 5 or 6 hours today bur our temps are only in the 30s.

I live in DuPage county, near Schaumburg (NW suburb of Chicago) I have AT & T as my cable/internet provider & I haven't lost phone,internet, or tv. I was having issues with cable yesterday but they were resolved in less than 10 minutes.

Went without cable for about 19 hours and internet as long.

Glad not everyone had this problem. You pay a lot for this!

OMG ~ I am reading this while DH was JUST talking to his brother on the southwest side of Chicago. His cable and computer are out. However, he said his neighbor across the street has not been affected. {#emotions_dlg.ohmy}

Wonder if they'll issue you a credit? LOLLOLOLOL

Isn't it funny of you didn't pay your bill you would lose service and you lose service for 19 hours and they don't get penalized. Makes me mad.

I think you should determine your hourly rate and then pro-rate your bill to them.
