I wonder if they pump up the drama on this show as they do on so many reality shows. If that isn't the case, these seem like very unhappy people. All of them. Of course, my feelings are the same as when I first saw the show. How this guy got one woman to marry him, let alone four is amazing to me.

Whatever they make from TLC, with 17 kids (and more to come I'm sure) that doesn't go very far, what with colleges, cars, food, bills, etc..... Those homes all have mortgages and I have a feeling that they live from day to day when it comes to paying the bills. They talk a good game but I think it's really just a game.

They all sit around and whine about what's next. They drive old cars (except Kody of course) and as each kid becomes of age, they need a car too. Now, Mariah is going to Westminster which is $28,000 a semester, while Logan's is only $6,500...... I guess Mariah gets what Mariah wants if it's up to Meri. After all, she is Kody's "only" legal child......

As soon as this show is off the radar, we'll be reading about them and it won't be in a good way IMO....... Wink

There is the occasional mention about sales and marketing and Kody getting his new car as a bonus but I'm not sure exactly what he is marketing.

I usually feel like smacking Meri by the end of a show. Always whining and crying. No wonder she doesn't have a great relationship with Janelle and Christine.

As far as I know Kody's profession is some sort of marketing or sales. You're right, they should all get jobs. In a few years the show will be gone but the upkeep, taxes and insurance will still be rolling along, as will the bills for all those college tuitions.

Actually Kody's car is older as well. He has a Lexus when the show first began...then he won the Nissan 2 door soft top in the job he had before they left Utah...so really all their cars are old.

They would have been far better off building a REAL McMansion for all the wives but nooo each had to have their own McMansion. What happen to good ol' Polygamy where they all live together?{#emotions_dlg.glare}

No wonder Meri wanted Robyn as the 4th wife. She saw the closeness between Janelle and Christine and wanted the same - and she got it from "sobbin' Robyn"........ Two of a kind, except I think there might be a little bit of jealousy between Meri and Robyn. Robyn is no beauty but she is the youngest and probably will have more kids, whereas Meri can't.....

I kinda like Kody. I think he's really a nice guy and gets a bad rap sometimes. At least, he's not around long enough for any one of them to tire of him, except I don't think he spends enough time with the kids, which is important while they're growing up and need that father figure in their lives..... I was thinking about all of Meri's boohooing this morning and I wondered if she's miserable because of the additional wives. Yes, she knew she was going into a polygamist marriage, but I wonder if her heart was really in it. Perhaps she wanted Kody so much that she thought she could deal with it and has discovered that she can't. There have been interviews with women that have been in that situation and finally had to get out.

ITA twopeas, I think she(Meri) thought she could live the life. Possibly part of the problem is Meri thought she would have a boat load of children as well and when she couldn't... it affected her self esteem while the other wives seem to had no trouble having children.

I can't believe I am saying this but from the books I have read about polygamists the women are very competitive about having children and how this really determines their standing in the family.
