I live in a very old house with very little storage and was used to just running to store when I hit my last couple of rolls of tp, etc.  Now I am planning ahead for winter (in my guest room).  I have three Costco packages of Charmin (to me tp is the most important item).  I could live without paper towels, I don't use paper plates.  My next most important items are coffee and food - both of which I am working on.

Just returned from my Wal Mart pick up.

No Folgers Coffee

No Great Value Creamer

No Alcohol

No Bounty Napkins (Did get a substitute)

No Heinz  Roasted Turkey Gravy (Trying to get Thanksgiving Dinner planned in advance)

No Charmin Toilet Paper (But, they did substitute Angel Soft)

And, of course, no Clorox Hand Wipes.

Re: Shortages again?

@Georgiagrama   It is wise to be getting what you can ahead of time in terms of things for your Thanksgiving meal.

I am doing that as well and certain brands of seasonings and mixes are already out of stock or much more expensive than usual.

Some things do pop back up so when I check online and something reappears at a normal, or reasonable price, I order it immediately.  However, I won't give in to the outrageous gougers, and I won't buy when it is only available "by the case" so to speak.

Even in normal circumstances, for example, Bell's seasoning is difficult to find in this region as I learned when I first moved here from Connecticut (guess it's more of a Northeast thing, made in Massachusetts since circa 1867) so I always keep one box ahead.

No other poultry seasoning on the market presents the precise flavor profile that it does.

I feel the same way about Old Bay for seafood.

Wal Mart was out of many seasoning packets, even meatloaf seasoning! I did get some Swansons Chicken Broth for my dressing and McCormicks poultry Seasoning, but I can tell that certain items are already getting scarce.

@suzyQ3.

My husbands cousin owns a trucking company. Many truckers have refused to go into areas of the protests. Risking their truck, the contents or themselves wasn’t worth it.

@Georgiagrama : We use the Mccormicks low sodium brown gravy mix and difficult to find. I have stocked up on the chicken broth, cream of chicken and tomato soup, cake mixes, cake flour, corn meal, bread flour and yeast. Last week purchased the pumpkin purĂ©e and cranberry sauce. I have done this over several weeks because don't want to be accused of hoarding.

My elderly parents in NJ had a very difficult time finding printer ink cartridges.

@Georgiagrama, I don't know the post to which you must be referencing.

Regardless, I seriously doubt that any protests were a major factor in the damage to the supply chain.

Big name paper towels are sometimes hard to find.  Smaller, cheap paper towels are all over the place.

I agree with the truckers,
