Only 2 pkgs of toilet paper at Costco. No wipes...not even baby wipes or facial wipes....here we go again?

When I went grocery shopping yesterday, the store had plenty of toilet paper, with no limit.

Maybe it's just that particular store.

My Costco is well stocked with everything except their 5-pack of Clorox wipes. The cashier said if you don't grab one (limit one) within the 2 hours of them putting them out, they're gone.

In my city, the large university of 40,000 students has had to quarantine two massive dorms and all fraternities/sororities. They were given two hours advance notice and students mobbed the grocery stores. Could something similar be happening in your area?

I visit 3 different grocery stores and they all have tons of toilet paper but very limited on the paper towel.  There were only 2 packages of Bounty and I grabbed one.

I have also noticed on many shopping sites that inventory is very low.  It seems like summer merchandise left over and now on sale.

Our local HomeGoods has almost nothing.  They are very low on inventory.  There are quite a few empty shelves.

At this point, with fall and winter looming, I think I will stock up on things when I see them.

Our store shelves are bare - NO cleaning supplies - and there is a limit of one IF you there was a spray bottle of Clorox ect.

A girlfriend who works at Walmart thinks people are starting to hoard again.  Our two little local newsletter has addressed this situation several times - I don't think people care.

Paper products are okay but not stocked liked before.

We live in a college town and there where a lot of students who did return.  They can just take their classes in their apartments.  I don't think anyone is living on campus ... yet.

We have shortages in the South on some items. The breakdown in all the early Spring is still having effects. I have been following the news in Australia and also the Chinese shortages which are concerning.  A grocerery store clerk told me this summer they expect another run on grocereies and this time they do not have the warehouse supplies like last time from the initial pandemic surge.. There have been fields and factories shut down due to Covid. The Iowa storm a month ago destroyed a huge amount of corn and the recent huricanes and fires are a factor in the present growth cycle.

Re: Shortages again?

[ Edited ]

I went in to wal mart early last week. Plenty of toilet paper, but there were difinitely some bare shelves. I think some of us are experiencing shortages. When I tried to order my coffee creamer that we like from Kroger, (that Wal Mart hasn't had in several weeks) the lady who brought my order out to me said they haven't had that creamer in 2 months. She didn't know why.  So what is up with that?

No idea why some things aren't anywhere in sight, I thought the panic buying was over?

I've been buying the Huggies Natural Care wipes at Costco for years.  Use them to remove makeup, use them on the dog -- use them for all sorts of things.

Well, they haven't been available for quite some time so I ended up with Kirkland's baby wipes.

Not the same.

And you're right: Several items are becoming harder to find, so when you do see them, buy them.
