What’s with people stocking up bottled water. Is there going to be something wrong with our water supply.

Coming back from the shopping center, I saw 3 high school students wearing masks.
And the numbers keep growing: 9 deaths so far. The fear is real here.
@hummermom I live in the Seattle area also...

We're in a suburb of Seattle and went shopping today as well. Hand sanitizer and toilet paper were not to be found at Costco, PCC, aand Walgreens. People are very concerned here because of the deaths at LifeCare Center. By the way, I was there for 5 weeks while recuperating from a stroke a few years ago. I received great care and the staff was wonderful. My room was cleaned every day and I left in much better shape then when I arrived. My prayers go out to all the patients and staff at LifeCare and I know they would appreciate your prayers also.

@Anniedog I live in Renton. I thought that the LifeCare center was a nursing home since all the people who have died are older. It must be assisted living then?

@SeaMaiden Doctors don't like to send you home from the hospital if there is a risk of you falling. They might release you to a nursing home first to get a little stronger.

Hi Seamaiden-LifeCare actually has 2 wings. One is for people who are rehabbing and the other is for long term care. I haven't heard for sure but I assume the deaths have come from patients in the long term care wing.

@tansy Costco was out totally of TP...projected arrival for more Friday. They only had a few paper towels left. People buying mass quantities of bottled water...they did not have hardly any cases left of that either. Kleenex was wiped out too
i found the last two of packages of TP at Fred Meyers. I found some Kleenex too...but shelves were bare.
At biglots they still had some TP and paper towels....I should have bought them there as Fred Meyers prices are so high compared to Costco and Big Lots, Oh well...
@SeaMaiden TP is also available on Costco.com, but might be a couple dollars more than the warehouse price.

@Leggett28, I had wondered about that, too. Perhaps some people want to drink only bottled water. I guess it can't hurt to have bottled water on hand anyway.

@suzyQ3 Thank you. I’ve googled this and can’t find an answer.. I don’t know what water has to do with this.

I asked this on another thread and got lots of answers about needing to store water in case of broken water mains. I still don't see what that has to do with the virus - it's not as if the virus is going to cause broken water mains, nor do I see how it might contaminate the water. I still don't understand the advice to stock up on a couple of weeks of water.
