That try&buy is not new.  Amazon instituted that awhile ago.  It doesn't apply to all clothing.  Why are people who admit they never shop QVC try to dissuade others?  What do people you get out of it?  Do you how insulting it is for you to dare lecture others about shopping around?  Like were too dumb to figure that out....lol.  And you nothing about shopping Amazon.  You are telling us things that Amazon put into place YEARS ago.  I would never presume to tell others how to shop or manage their money.   Whether you like it or not, accept it or not; many of us love QVC because we are getting the best prices .....for us.

Just to set the record straight, I used to buy a lot of stuff from QVC.  Had purchased from them even before they changed the name to QVC, so to assume I 'never' shop QVC is not true.  I said in my post,  I don't buy "much" from QVC.  Secondly, I'm not lecturing, I'm merely pointing out that better prices can be had at other places and I gave an example, as some others on this thread have also done.  So, spend your money any way you'd like, but please do not tell me I have no right to voice how I spend mine or as I see fit and, like you, I can voice my opinion in here whether you agree with it or not!.

@ciao_bella , ignore that poster.  It's the way that poster is 3/4 of the time, except of course, when that poster needs advice, opinions or needs to vent - then it's different.

Thank you for the thread.

@HisElk1  Thank you, I appreciate your input and kind words.

Yeah, that poster does not play nice with others unless she needs something. If we had ignore, she would be the first to go.

@ciao_bella , no problem.  I guess I just don't see the necessity to be so snarky.  If I'm not interested in a thread, I just don't click on it.  Again, thanks.

@GenXmuse , you nailed it and I agree with you 100%

She knows no other way, that has been her style here forever. Her posts are always nasty and demeaning towards others. Tells me that her life isn't all that great like she wants us to believe.

Now that she managed to get some doctor to order that diabetic drug that she is taking for weight loss she has gotten even more high and mighty.

Re: Shop Around First For The Best Price!!!

I also do as the OP does. Very rarely purchase anything from qvc. 3 home decor items on sale purchased last year, that’s it. The Q very seldom has the best price on merchandise. It pays to shop around, We are Amazon Prime members also. Great prices, variety, excellent CS and quick shipping, some next day! So thank you for your post. There is nothing wrong with posting how you shop. I do the same. I’ve others get so upset by a post like this they can always SOB.

I always check around.  When I see something here and want to order I check to see if I can find it cheaper.  It just happened today I did find it cheaper with a coupon and free shipping & returns.  I couldn't order fast enough.

Check Walmart before you buy something from Amazon. Often they have a better price but you have to concider the shipping costs if it's under $35 or you don't have their free shipping offer.

Re: Shop Around First For The Best Price!!!

I was reading a financial newsletter that said that consumers are getting to the point of saying NO to paying high prices.

Up to now, consumers have been understanding of supply issues, inflation, rebound from covid economy but they(we) have reached a limit. So for Q and other retailers, goofy sales tactics are not motivators of customer spending.

Like so many of you, I do not feel the need to urgent need to submit my Q order. Even with the sales technique of "we are down to final quanities"

@RetRN , perfect description.  Like I said in other posts, it has become expected.

Re: Shop Around First For The Best Price!!!

@ciao_bella ,  like some other posters here, I always appreciate it when someone-- like you did-- shares their positive shopping experiences, or gives timely reminders.

You weren't "lecturing" in the least, and were kind enough to be looking out for others.  We all have the option of evaluating and acting-- or not acting-- on anyone's good counsel.

Thanks for sharing, and I can't state the following more emphatically:   if anyone wants to share their experiences in the civil and helpful way that @ciao_bella did,  please don't be deterred the the possibility of unseemly responses.

By far, most people can perceive good intentions on the part of others, and they do appreciate them.
